Is John Allen a Complete Spoofer?

Which far flung place are you making a mad dash to Dublin from for tomorrow?

So we headed back to Thurles on a showery cloudy day

And the Dubs with their satnavs also made the way

Their team wasted little time and playing with heart and soul

They drop ped a ball into the net for an early settling goal

But Limerick said “Now, stop it

Ye can’t be doing that”,

And big man Paudie Mc he pulled the pretenders back

Then referee Mick Wadding blew and stopped the play

As on the ground young Paul Browne all forlorn lay.

He said “I’m awarding a free, in the goal only three may stand”,

So up stepped keeper Murray with a rocket launcher in his hand

He then pulled the trigger and near Joey Boland found a hole

And as the ball it hit the net he ran back to his goal.

Young O’Mahony, Gavin, was chomping at the bit.

He started scoring many points with every ball he hit.

So to conclude and finish, Limerick they won the game

And now meet Tipperary in the hope of further fame.

A lesson to be learned there WTB,teams that get soft paths to the semis get found out big time.

Bump.

signing in

Yes

This man knows the score.

So much for mr tactics .couldn’t even take a young lad out of his misery on the frees let alone plot a recovery

What Limerick need is a Davy Fitz. A mad bastard.

We need a Limerick man. Of that there’s no doubt.

Bennis or Ryan?

Still I’d say the match programme he was marking diligently throughout the game with a pen, will be of immense value to statisticians.

he was caught on camera at one stage lurking behind the limerick selectors looking at the program and then seemed to shrug his shoulders.
having said that it would be a srious mistake to get rid of him. After a defeat like that the last thing you need is a change of manager to create even more upheavel

Agree with tan. We need to give Allen one more year.

There’s a few reasons but basically, we don’t have any immediate stand out candidates in limerick, and we need to hit into the new season early, rather than waiting around half the year for a manager to be appointed before we even assemble and start physical training. Give Allen another year and see if he can learn from mistakes and develop the team another bit again next year.

Give Allen another year? It’ll be him telling Limerick I’d say. Hard to know where he could take them from here, personally don’t think much further. He is more DonalGrady than JBM. He’ll look at it analytically and assess can they win the All Ireland, and I think he’ll come up with a No. Someone like JBM would just do it cos he was asked.

You could be right Kev. I’m not sure he is as coldly calculating as that though -I think he’ll base it on 1 whether he is still enjoying it and 2 whether he feels he has something to offer. Of course if he comes around to the view that he and Limerick can improve again next year there is always the chance that our mandarins will reject him and appoint some numpty from nowhere.

An addition of one or two selectors might be a good idea. Team selections all year were very similar through the league and there may need to be a fresh look at things as our starting team I feel needs about 5 personnel/positional switches.

Ya he seems practical, enjoyment would be a big part. You never know how things are going behind the scenes, it could be a joy to be involved. I’ve been on winning teams that were not that enjoyable and not so successful teams that brought alot of happiness.

He may also want to make up for yesterday. I’m not aware of the Limerick scene or what’s coming thru, but there doesn’t seem to be enough quality in this side to win All Ireland right now. Mind you I thought the same about Cork last year. But Cork have a few new lads in, some of whom from places we never heard of even, Limerick need a player or two like that.

Alot of Fitzgibbon hurlers playing in the Final this year!!!

Who would Limerick replace him with? Given the recent antics with the minor team you could put your bottom dollar on them making a disastrous appointment. Look forward to seeing what the extent of the bloodletting will be like. Someone will have to be blamed.
