Played 2 nights there in March 84, saw them on the second night too. Jones and Headon had left by then but played all the songs I could have wished for. Great night!

Same month they played Slane with Oasis as back up.

Stipe hated the Gallagher brothers.

The song The Wake Up Bomb makes reference to it.

The wake up bomb is a dig at oasis and their carry on in slane. Went down a YouTube rabbit hole on foot of this thread and found this. Very interesting footage. I had forgotten how good the oasis gig was. And how big a deal it was too.
