Is Soccerball finished as a sport in Ireland

weirdo

Does any of it include playing on smaller pitches or is it as it was when I was 8 and playing on full size pitches?

:unamused:

From U/10 down have been playing on small pitches (usually across the field) for years.

Good. What about U11 up to U14?

Not sure about u11, but u12’s play on full pitches and it’s fine.

What do you mean it’s fine?

I mean the players get on fine.
It’s not too big for them.

whats up your ass? How is it being weird to have a publicised copy of a playing development plan?

some of the proposals in it:

Teams to use a 4-3-3 formation for all underage teams, as this is a more attacking based formation
Under 8 squads to have 12 players, and play in blitzes but the squad is halved and you have 2 5v5 games on at the same time.
No referees for U6 to U9
A size 5 football be used at every age group, the only difference being the weight of the ball
Full size goals from U12 up, smaller pitch at 12s, full size pitch from U13 up.
Introduction of Elite and National leagues.
March to November season

The Rugby crew will be happy with this development.

I would contend that smaller pitches up until 15 or 16 would be far more beneficial for developing the skills of the game.

So full size goals and pitches for 12 and 13 year olds. That’s great. Why don’t the other more successful footballing countries copy our model instead of their model of smaller people playing on smaller pitches?

you know more than this guy?

The Football Associaiton of Ireland has appointed Dutch national, Ruud Dokter as its High Performance Director following an extensive worldwide recruitment process.Ruud Dokter, aged 57 has wide ranging international experience, most recently with the KNVB, the Dutch Football Association, where he has fulfilled a large variety of senior coaching positions at men’s U21, U18, U17, U16 and U15 level as well as the senior women’s team and has built up a wealth of experience in delivering the world famous Dutch model of player development.Dokter, who takes up the position on August 1, will oversee the non-senior international men’s programme, the women’s senior and underage international programme, coach education and player development. This will include the Emerging Talent Programme as well as the Academy in Abbotstown where the first phase is currently being developed.Speaking about his appointment, Ruud Dokter commented,"I am really looking forward to taking up the role of High Performance Director for the FAI. I will be getting involved in Irish football at an exciting time for the game here with the emergence of many promising young players and solid performances at underage international level."My first priority will be to cultivate relationships with those people who invest so much time in nurturing young Irish talent, provide a good sense of direction and influencing everyone to work together. Ireland has a fine footballing tradition and I want to build on that, using my experience to optimise the development of the coming generation of elite players."Welcoming today’s announcement John Delaney, FAI Chief Executive added,"Ruud will be working closely with all of the affiliates involved in Irish football with an emphasis on coaching and the development of our elite player pathway. His experience will be a great addition to the Association and we look forward to having

playing numbers increase when summer football is introduced

I was playing under 8s 20 years ago, it’s been small pitches since then, some of you lads are well old

horsebox is an idiot mate

The GAA will eat soccerball alive if this goes ahead mate.

Just looking at my old schoolboy club (Granada) and how many teams they’re running. Maybe the website is not correct but I see one under 8s team, two under 9s and three under 10s. When I was at under 8s we had 5 teams out running and there were still 3 teams at under 12s despite that being the age when clubs like Park Celtic and Joeys come in and steal all the best local players. Quite strange as I know mini rugby in Blackrock/Seapoint and Kilmacud Crokes/Cuala are booming in the area.

You fucking clown. Nearly all underage football in Holland follows the Ajax model which is mainly smaller teams playing on smaller pitches up until 15 or 16.

It has been summer underage soccer in Clare for the last number of years and it has worked relatively well.
