Israel

Not all 17 of the possible teams/destinations have me determined to go, to be honest. Depends on the logistics/prices etc soe a lot of people. We had hundreds in Rhyl when we knocked them out last year but less than 100 in Belarus when we knocked BATE out a few years back. It’s the pinnacle of supporting your team, without a shadow of a doubt.
Well I did ask the question and a minute ago you said it was " fairly obvious" from his post…and yet now you are just guessing.
Thanks.
I still think it’s fairly obvious, and in the absence of GSH confirming (which he is under no obligation to do), I’ll consider it more than a wild guess.

Thanks

SledgeHammer knows the score.

Yours etc,
GSH.

this is your guess. Yet GSH said he was in Israel for 6 months in 10 years. So you surmise that when he wasn’t in the Lebanon (a different country by the way), he was on leave in Israel.

GSH, were you ever in Beirut?

There seems to be too many hard questions, direct, fact finding etc…
I think OAM is Hamas. And all this time I thougt you were a man with 1 arm, not that you were a person who had another persons arm in your possession.

GSH is on fire here today.

GSH, I am armless. I swear.

You on the other are accused of the crime of deicide. How do you plead?

He has said I know the score. Why are you clutching at straw?

I never mentioned anyone being “on leave”.

If you can think of other, non-military circumstances under which an Irish person (with a tongue in cheek reference to a barracks in their profile location) could spend around 6 months over 10 years in Israel, shout.

Sledge, chill. If you check GSH’s friend list, you will find me. I have known GSH for many many years. And I know exactly what GSH was doing in Israel. How? Because I was there too. Yes indeed, I am banned from several Islamic countries because of my Ben Gurion travels. And believe me, what we did there…it was not pretty. I have tried to forget but alas…I have to sleep sometime. We were cold and calculating…And I should not be bringing up the past but…part of me died a little during those trips (especially the part from my left shoulder to the fingenails).

Yours in Shalom,
OAM

OAM is an alright sort

Although if your story wasn’t so funny, I’d say you were clearly seething if you are playing the windup card.

I see the connection between your usernames now alright (I think).

Sledge, why thank you Sir. I have to say I rarely get angry. My doctor does not allow it.

To be honest I am just plain weird.

You won’t get any argument there.

hi gents
havent posted here b4 but felt i may have a contribution
ive been living and working here in isral for the last 4 years in an entirely civilian capacity :-0
i just saw the post by sledgehammer enquiring about macabi haifa and the football

ill start with the football,
im a season ticket holder here at hapoel tel aviv, we finshed second in the liat el al ( premier league) this year behind macabi haifa
( dimitar talikinski who scored for bulgaria the other nite is a hapoel player)
macabi haifa are a decent side, by a stretch the best team in isral this year. their star man would be yaniv katan who spent a rather unhappy six months at west ham in 2007 i think.
macabi have produced some great players thru the years, avi cohen at liverpool, berkovic, benayoun and reuven ata , current manager of beitar yerusalim who got the winner in paris in 1989 to prevent france going to the world cup, think isral won 3-2

nowadays the football isnt that great, macabi haifa would avergae a home gate of about 12 000, there most recent europpean venture was in 2006 when liverpool beat them in the 3rd qualifying round of the CL
they could not play the game at kiryat eliezar, pretty decent stadium as it was only a few weeks after we had the war with hisbollah in levanon and haifa got a right old batering from nasrallah’s grad katyusaha rockets ( i was living there at the time). anyway liverpool like chelsea in 1999 were afraid to come here, haifa played the game in the ukraine as a home leg and lost out

back in 2005 CL ( maybe) macabi haifa beat an understrenght man utd,in 1995 macabi tel aviv beat ajaz amsterdam and in 1999 hapoel tel aviv dumped chelsea ,rangers and maybe parama out of the UEFA cup, things have gone back a bit now tho

onto the country,
it is a beautiful place, the cities of haifa and tel aviv are full of friendly , warm people abnd it is a single man’s kingdom here!

life here can be tough, things got bit dodgy last xmas with the situation with the hamas but that is the way u live here, most people try to forgett the situations and continue to live day by day,( u cannot plan the future here as there may not be one)

the quote TFK,israelis really are allright sort’s

and guys the women, ive personally never seen a more highly concentrated mix of stunning women in one place, most are sound out too, they hate the booze and u get no where drunk but after a while its worth it,

sledgehammer, if u draw haifa PM me and ill do my best with the hapoel fans i know here to ensure u guys have a memorable trip

Hey Mickee, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickee.

Welcome sir.

How the fuck is Israel classified as Europe?

It’s presence on the world map and huge influence on world affairs is an insult to every right thinking person.

I find that doubtful judging by the actions of the state and the amount of people happy to live in the settlements.

I don’t think anyone who uses ‘we’ to describe Israel’s war with Lebanon should be welcomed. A more traditional ‘fuck off’ would be more appropriate.

Agreed.

If Bohs do end up playing in israel I’ll want to go but I won’t want to give them any of my money. I suppose I’d try spend most of my time in Palestine and minimise my time among in the “most cruel and racist” state as it was recently accurately described.

Tell me more about this ‘single man’s kingdom’ Mickee, how good?
