So true!

There are a small team of “developers” in a jungle somewhere in West India who would get me and hang me if they could get near me today. I have raised 14 defect since I logged in this morning.

Getting your monies worth out of them I see.

Fuck me but i don’t half hate end users.

Some cunt in Belgium thought it would be a wise idea to ship 1600" of cable to another facility and send every inch as an individual line item and ends up balling up two systems and middle and operations in the receiving plant.

Weeks of clean up and manual table entries and what not to tidy this up. Prick seemed to think it would be a 5 minute job to fix

Must be a Belgian thing. I’ve seen them running big batch jobs at month end in finance as well and paralysing systems.

Do any of ye fuckers work in technical support over the phones or is it all idiot Indians? I had a Sap related problem this morning and I was over an hour on the phone to some lad who I could hear flicking over a manual or something during the big long pauses in my dilemma. Needless to say the problem was not solved and I had to wait for the office chinky to come in the afternoon and solve the problem for me.

I had a half a chance to go down the SAP route, but took a different role. Seems to be good money in it but I’d imagine its pretty techincal and probably not suited to dealing with those outsourced lads.

Would I be right in saying a lapsed poster from here is a top man at SAP?

If youre thinking of the klareman I suspect you may be referring to then youd be wrong

No, Dunph is breeding greyhounds now

Nope. The man involved with breeding the greyhounds is who I was thinking off.

Well holy god

I would quote both those posts and do a  symbol if I could on the phone

He is indeed and gave me some fine advise on SAP and the relevant modules a few years ago

Did you go down that route?

A place where I worked previously left an incompetent French lad in charge of the sap function for 3 days. He caused a massive problem that resulted in a few of his colleagues having to miss out on an all expenses paid junket to LA

I went down the ERP route alright

Glad you did?

Have no major complaints at this stage just over two and a half years in. Will probably stick with this company/role for another 18 months or so before moving on. Currently involved in a data cleanse for an SPP project whcih looks like it is going to be an unmerciful ball ache. 12 years worth of shit WM, SD &MM data to be cleaned down as a prerequisite for SPP.

Good stuff. Sounds like your getting good experience.

My QA role is not challenging me much these days, which is great, 40 hours and no more a week which gives plenty time to sort out other stuff.

I am itching for a change again though… though I do like it here.

Yeah, have done plenty of travelling and got plenty of experience, like I say another 18 months behind me and I will be on the pigs back. Only drawback is that there is serious politics here between ourselves and our sister IS team in Belgium which is an awful ball ache at times.

Do a straight 40 hours myself which is pretty sweet, in at 8 and finish at 4, but have to do the bones of 14 weeks a year on call
