Divert to your mobile and stick in your headphones.
Just make sure the person you rob them off is one of the more hygenic people in IT. Some IT folks seem to think they are excluded from general hygene. One of the guys working in my place seems to think there is severe water shortage in the country at the moment and only washes once a week. The fucker keeps scratching his head now and I am wondering if the dirty fucker has head lice.
Thankfully the majority of the department finish at 4pm so I have been able to switch to speakerphone for the last half an hour or so
I have a business request in for a sound proof headset. Cant hear yourself think in our partition lately and hear those cretins in Bangalore has become impossible.
Did you not say you worked from home?
Partitions and cubicles. Ffs.
When are ye going to get yourselves an office.
The odd time only. Not as much I used unfortunately.

I know it only too well. I’m one of the 260,000 they employ either directly or indirectly and together we pass €7bn through the Irish economy.
Hadn’t realised Galway had so many though - IDA Grants for bringing employment to the West I’m guessing?
Sorry, I mean they are here for our highly skilled work force and smart economy, not the fact that we save them billions of dollars every year.
The same way they open centres in Bangalore, Hyderabad & Mumbai for their highly skilled labour and favourable economic conditions and not because they can have highly qualified staff working for pittance.
We are now considered cheap labour again. 40% less than employing an equivalent tech person in the states.
Low attrition rate of workforce.
The fact that we are in a time zone that bridges the Indians and the USA.
and of course the Tax Breaks!

I also work for a serious global brand and have my own office.
Therefore I’m better than you and your managers.

Your companies core function is non tech though right?
Dairygold in Mallow for example?
So IT crew would be limited and would generally get their own office…
Isn’t this lads company based in Galway?
