IT Professionals, Guilty

are all the back out scripts fully tested? or are you taking a ‘burn the boats’ approach?

We useta get months worth of mileage out of lads from Hyderabad tearing lumps off either during a go-live gone wrong, especially when it came time to redeploy the rollbacks. You’d be asked by some HR type then the following week if you understood any of the abuse being spoken via Telugu after they were snitching on each other. Great times.

Should have been posted in the ‘TFK Poster Reminder’ thread.

The festival of lights Babu was telling me. There is a heightened level of risk with all IT systems this weekend.

Couple that with some potential high trading volumes on the back of the US elections and we could be in for a rough ride. Any teams deploying code this week would want a good look at themselves in the mirror.

That reminds me, I watched ‘Leave The World Behind’ last night. The scene with all the white Tesla’s crashing into one another was gas. Not sure how they got away with that one.

I see Dropbox are laying off 20% of their workforce. They’ve a few hundred staff located in Dublin

They are a lot of very basic tech companies with insane numbers of people working there and a fairly simple tech.

Like docusign is worth billions, and it’s nothing

They have a pretty significant market share and an affordable subscription model. I presume their surplus of staff are working on researching and developing new products to upsell to existing user base.

Haven’t the likes of Dropbox been replaced by free file storage and sharing apps like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive?

Three weeks in the bag and the only issues encountered are from the wet behind the ears BA fucking things up in the system from lack of knowledge or shit data.

A noble ERP system the Indians and I have cobbled together
