Bitton doesn’t have the defensive instincts/positioning or recovery pace to be secure at this level. Aside from lack of awareness like for the goal, he often overcommits too and leaves the defensive line to make tackles in midfield. His judgement can be rash enough. I don’t think his passing from the back compensates nearly enough for these weaknesses.

Bitton will cost you time and time again, as he has done for years. Criminal how he has been kept on for years in the background and catapulted into European games, he’s not good enough and a walking liability

Certainly Bitton. I could debate the other two but it only takes one to fuck up against any competent opposition and Bitton was the chief culprit for me anyway.
Bitton the most culpable but if Starfelt is doing his job then he’s live to that danger. Ralston doesn’t do well either but it’s the centre halves area and they are in position to take charge
Bar a few mad tackles Welsh has been decent enough in the games Ive seen. Id have him in the team.

Very light on attacking options there. Obviously Johnston and Dembele might come into the picture later but we need reinforcements there.
Would have liked to have seen Montgomery trialled at left back.

I thought Montgomery looked a bit lost when he came on against Midtjylland. But in fairness the team collectively hit the wall so he probably struggled in a ragged formation. The fact he’s come on a couple of times suggests he’s in the plans. Might get a start in the cup.

Ralston with a purely accidental one there but he looks like a guy who could cripple someone with no intent every game.
