As stated by me during last season’s Europa League.
I think Lewandowski’s saga has definitely hurt Dortmund this year - pity because they were right to stand up to him and his demands to leave immediately. But Dzeko has a bit of improvement (or form to regain) to match the way Lewandowski was playing last year. He might be a prick but his finishing was top class.
I can confirm Bandage did not tell the forum about how highly he rated Salah last year. I checked last season’s Europa League Thread and not once does he mention Salah.
It’s just another case of Bandage trying to claim royalty on something he has no claim over.
Supposedly he is straight off to West Ham on loan. How has he done in recent years? I remember him giving the Roma defence a torrid time at the Olimpico when Cluj played us in the CL a number of years ago.
Don’t know. He was unplayable back in that CL campaign. Saw him briefly in a couple of Europa League games this season and he looked talented still but not that interested. Hard to judge him on that because Anzhi have been actively downsizing.
Inter look like they have nabbed Danilo D’Ambrosio from Torino for €2m. He had been linked very strongly with Roma and Milan and I’m very disappointed we missed out on him because I believe he would have been a better option at left back than either Balzaretti or Dodo.
It will be interesting to see whether he is likely to dislodge Nagatomo or Jonathan as he is very comfortable on both flanks. It’s also being reported that Wallace will return to Chelsea after his unimpressive loan spell.
