January 2014 Transfer Window Thread

Sorry for doubting you, pal - looks like Nainggolan is on his way to Roma.

Apology accepted

Looks like Lyon have pulled the plug on Maxime Gonalons move to Napoli. The offer was reportedly worth €15m plus a further €2m in bonuses which seems a bit excessive given he can’t even get in the French squad at the minute. They have also had a bid in excess of €12m turned down for Marseille defender N’Koulou. Don’t know how good either of these players are but I don’t think Napoli have been very frugal with their money this summer, they got some decent players but probably paid over the odds for them.

He has been talked about for a long time now. Didn’t he come from somewhere in Russia?

Think he’s Japanese mate.

Former Celtic player mcgeedy has signed a pre contract with Everton which will see him joining in the summer

I imagine they may still try and work out a deal to get him to join sooner.

Defoe has signed for Toronto in the MLS, joining on March 1st I am reliably informed.

What a quitter.

Its all about the money with Jermaine.

And banging incredibly average sluts.

Jelavic on his way to hull

Varying reports on the fee agreed , some saying 3.5 million, others saying 5.25 million. He was a bit of an enigma, Jelavic. He joined during the January transfer window 2 years ago and he was excellent for the remaining months of that season, scoring 11 times in 16 games. He also did well for Croatia at the Euros that summer.

For some reason it all went to shit for him last season and he only managed 8 goals in 42 games. He started this season as the first choice striker but he was never going to keep Lukaku out of the team for long, and it only took 3 goalless games for Martinez to confine him to the subs bench.

Good business to sell him on now while he is still worth a few bob. The question now is what striker Martinez intends to bring in before the end of the window. Important that we have someone who will challenge Lukaku for the starting position, his goals have dried up recently and his performance levels have dropped significantly.

5.2rising to 7mill jimmy…

Looks like another Irish mans on his way to Everton along with mcgeedy

I really hope it’s not Shane Long you’re on about, think Hull have agreed a fee with WBA for him anyway.

He’s a very good finisher but his form is a bit streaky and he’s useless outside the box. Made a bug impact at first alright but he’s just too ineffective in general play to keep his place in the team once his form dips.

Who’s this Faldo?

I think Defoe would be a good loan signing for Everton. Although having him for only 3months would be the obvious downside.

Kevin Doyle I believe.

Just announced on sky sports that McGeady has signed for Everton.
