For the money being mentioned you’d want some consistency over time though. They aren’t going to get him for 3, 4, 5m anyway.

I think he has potential to be a decent player but he’s got limited attributes and again he hasn’t had sustained brilliance for a period of time. For that sort of money you could buy an awful lot better. There will be people reading this news across Europe who haven’t heard of Carroll.

I don’t understand the last point - surely Liverpool believe he’s worth more than 30m now.

No guarantees but Chelsea’s main risk is injury. His form hasn’t been fantastic this season but still did well in big games and he’s been playing in a brutal team devoid of confidence. His class is undoubted.

Same doesn’t apply for Liverpool.

On the last point, i’m trying to say that they know he’s not worth 30 M, but maybe their thinking is he will be and more in time. I ain’t saying they are right and its a strange way of looking at it, but jesus its very strange as it is. Someone is trying to think “outside the box” here, but is basically probably talking shite and taking one hell of a risk. Good chance people will be fired over these deals in time.

Gudjohnsen is gone to Fulham on loan. That means he won’t play for Stoke again according to Sky Sports.

He just strikes me as a big fish in a small pond at the moment and I don’t think he has the ability to become a real top class playmaker and would doubt he would be able to make much of a step up…

He certainly has been impressive for Blackpool, credit where credit is due but the whole team is built around him and to allow him to play at the level he has…I don’t think a bigger club will do the same…

You are right about the bigger club, but this is Liverpool Puke, they are starting from a lower ebb these days.

Not that he’d ever move at this stage, but someone like Pirlo is who they should have gone after just for a season. The pace of EPL he may struggle with, but i always felt he’d really bring on a team hoping to move up a level or two.

You are right about the bigger club, but this is Liverpool Puke, they are starting from a lower ebb these days.

He would improve pretty much every team in the EPL, an absolute class act, a bit injury prone these days though…
