Why would he leave Sunderland to go to a smaller club?
Ā£18M seems about right for Darren Bent , you have to remember since 2005 he is the 3rd top scorer in the EPL Drogba (83) Ronney(82) Bent(81), for a player as consistant as that you are going to pay big money. I hope this transfer goes through as we havenāt had a proven goalscorer since Yorke left.
Weird transfer that one.
Very. Youād be thinking Bent would have had his eye on a bigger move than that.
Villa must be offering mega wages or something.
18 million quid for a Spurs reject, they could have gotten Robbie for 6
Some context. Mesut Ozil cost 16.6M. VdeV cost 8M.
Mentalā¦
Great all those Young and Bent jokes will be doing the rounds again
Robbie not going to Birmingham now. They canāt pay the wages.
Darren Bent is a superior player to Robbie, younger and you canāt trust Robbie not to fuck up the atmosphere in the dressing room, the troublesome money grabbing cunt. Not sure heās worth 3 times Keane, but Keane isnāt worth 6M either.
Robbies reluctance to move to Birmingham has killed that move. Ya Robbie is a great pro.
Maybe he didnāt want to go to Birmingham - thereās still a couple of weeks for him to get fixed up. Keaneās never given a hint of causing dressing room disharmony in his career. For example, Redknapp often mentions how he continues to train excellently even though heās not in their long term plans.
Oh Houllier
This brings back memories.
Exactly.
Birmingham is a shithole and maybe he just didnāt want to go there.
Although the line about him training excellently is like something youād throw into an advert for selling a dog.

I read somewhere that he wanted a wage rise
Where are Villa getting the money? Thought OāNeill left because Lerner wouldnāt spend any more cash, looks like he just didnāt want OāNeill spending his cash.

Robbie was up front in the semi-final, only to shatter two toes but continued to hunt the ball, despite being in obvious discomfort"

Fair point.
The talk is that theyāre listening to offers for Young.
Bandage, the reason he has been frozen out at Spurs is because of causing disharmony. Fair enough if he doesnāt like Birmingham (thats exactly what i said) but he could end up going nowhere, which is hardly the right thing to do either at this stage.
The irony is he could end up only 25 miles closer at Wolves.

Do you have any source to back this up? I havenāt read, heard or seen anything that suggests this is the case.
