Early big transfer in the January 2018 window -Diego Costa has signed for Atletico Madrid.

Interesting move, that’ll help with Chelsea’s net spend for 2018, right??

Massive news concerning an Irish striker on the move…Paddy Madden has signed for Fleetwood Town from Scunthorpe United.

Big signing for the Cod Army

Prudent spenders Chelsea set to splash in region of £15m on Ross Barkley

Will they agree personal terms?

Paddy would, would Fleetwood?

That’s actually a genuine bargain in the current climate but it’s a terrible move for Barkley

I cant see that being topped all year.

Another Shaun Wright-Philips/Jack Rodwell type move.

Will make a lot of money but will never be a regular.

Fabian Delph begs to disagree.

He’s out of contract at the end of the season.

Arsenal have splashed out on 20 year old Konstantinos Mavropanos. That should offset the disappointment of losing Sanchez to Man City on the final day of the window.

EDIT: I made a terrible grammatical error in my original post which I have fixed, there are others I’m sure. It’s only Day 2 of FY18 and I’m really not functioning at 100% yet.

In fairness Arsenal are the second most financially powerful club in the world after Man City

Wenger’s transfer policy is nothing if not Konsistant.

The club is being run prudently.

When the inevitable happens and Sheikh Mansour gets bored, Arsenal will be in a position to buy Nicolas Otamendi at a non-reflective market price thus creating an arbitrage opportunity.

Barkley is a very average footballer .

Sheikh Mansour is a blue through and through. Truly.

I think he is better than a lot of those ‘highly rated’ English midfielders.

But he needs to push on. I think there is some ability there.
