Arsenal have had a club record £55.4 million (63 million euros) offer agreed by Borussia Dortmund for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who also stands to become the highest paid player in the club’s history.
After a week of negotiations, Arsenal have increased from an initial £44 million (55 million euros) bid to meet Dortmund’s asking price but the Bundesliga club still want to source a replacement before signing off and announcing the deal.
Good signing for Arsenal. He will do really well there.
He’s 28. Wenger once refused to sign Xabi Alonso because, at 26, he was over 25.
Wenger has adapted his transfer philosophy somewhat in recent years.
No idea. He was complaining about the lack of depth in his squad yesterday so there could be a few more on the way.
You couldn’t blame him when cloggers continue to injure his players
Fellas get injured at every club. Otamendi is a thuggish buffoon. How many times was Aguero sent of last season for violence? You’re like a Welsh lad giving out about the Irish being rough.

He said he needs a bigger squad because players have gotten injured.
That seems pretty straightforward to me.
So use young players in their multi million pound academy? Especially in the league, which they’ve already won
Cant rush these players, they need to be allowed time develop and bed into the side.
that French guy they bough tin the summer looks decent, is he out of their plans now?
Lacazette? Its weird, he never really seemed suited to the Arsenal style, but seemed to be settling in a bit. A bizarre bit of business though, to pay that much for a striker, hardly play to his strengths, and then go and pay another huge fee for yet another striker. The feeling is Wenger isn’t in charge of transfers anymore.
Chelsea are now in for Giroud.

Studge to Newcastle on loan being mooted …
Is he fit or what’s the story? Is the cunt ever fit I suppose is the better question.
The level of seeth against City is gas considering what Utd have paid historically for players since the EPL began.
Agreed. The plain truth is that Giroud has actually done very well for Arsenal and his injury this Season has been a big miss for us.
Plus Welbeck must surely be offloaded before they even consider this latest Deal.
West Brom will pay all of his £120k a week wages. Plus £1.5m loan fee

Man U fans can’t accept that another club could have, however temporarily, more financial muscle than they have.
If they can get him firing again he’s a huge addition. It’s all in the head with him.
