FOOTIX ALERT
That was 6 years ago. Hes 29 now. One of these unfulfilled potential types.
Rodriguez is a totally different class of player to Sigurdsson though, who offers very very little unless you build a team around him.
Everton have seemed very haphazard with their signings in recent seasons though, not addressing issues within the squad. Iām not really sure where Rodriguez fits but at least he has genuine quality. Heāll be Evertonās most talented player easily.
His goal and assist record is very good anywhere he goes. Real Madrid was just the wrong club for him.
Thereās a high fail rate of some of the gameās top talents hitting off to Madrid in recent years, seemingly at the peak of their powers and flopping - James, Kaka, Hazard and Bale all come to mind - all attacking players too.
I know Madrid are the biggest club in world football but youād be reticent to make that move.
A move to Napoli really could have resurrected James last season but Napoli wouldnāt pay Madrid what they wanted. Itās a shame to see him end up at a doss club like Everton, if heās moving there then youād really question his motivation to get back to his best.
If James gets his act back together then he will be the best player in the EPL.
Bale has 80 goals in 170 games - thatās decent for a winger. He has tailed off in the last couple of years alright but that was more to do with club politics and him preferring to play golf.
Kaka, like many south Americans, just seemed to lose his legs at his peak ā¦
Bale definitely didnāt flop at Real
Anyone that goes to Barca or Real scores goals, even if they are a flop or not.
The bottom line is none of the players were able to hit the heights they did at their previous clubs for Real.
Robben
Rakitic going back to Sevilla
Barca will be lucky to have 11 next season
Good move. Theyāve Pedri and Fati to develop. Should try and cancel the Arthur/Pjanic deal too if at all possible.
James Rodriguez to Everton is HERE WE GO
Glenn Murray gone on loan to Watford. 37 later this month. Heāll bang them in in the Championship.
A pity other lads leaving Brighton on loan wouldnāt show similar ambition
Thatās a mad one. Could be a great piece of business
James stats are unreal anywhere he goes. He just needs some love.
Everton seem to specialise in signing players who would have been great signings about 5 years earlier for them.
Some buzz tonight of Wijnaldum to Barca which would clear the way for Thiago to Pool you would imagine.
