January Transfer Window Thread

There is something not quite right with this cunt.

I reckon a combo of being a tail eater/mildly autistic

What an utterly boring thread

is ‘utterly’ your favourite word? you use it quite a bit don’t you

the two lads in Glasgowlook like they have frost bite, nothing to report and the only people around are unemployed alcos in short sleeve shirts

3:53pm: LIVERPOOL AND TOTTENHAM HAVE AGREED A FEE

Dave Whelan has confirmed that Charles Nzogbia is on the verge of signing for Wigan, with Ryan Taylor heading to Newcastle

Its not often I feel sympathy for Robbie Keane. He showed a bit of ambition during the summer and joined his boyhood heroes for massive money. Unfortunately his limitations were exposed at the highest level as they always have been. Its been an embarrassing turnaround but at least he tried. Benitez style of management was never going to suit him either.

Its better for Ireland that he has left Liverpool but this is a simply insane signing by Tottenham. Defoe and Keane proved beyond question that they couldnt play together. Now he has brought both of them back.

Agreed, astonishing stuff by 'Arry. Such a typical Spurs move. WOnder how Defoe feels?

Arsenal and Zenit have agreed a fee for Arshavin, who has agreed personal terms with Arsenal. The only barrier to the completion of this trying saga is some payment Zenit reckon they’re due from the player.

Thought I read in one of the sunday papers that defoe is out for a whikle with an achilles* injury

  • mightn’t have been an achilles injury but think it was something to do with his foot

Bullshit.

He has only really played at the highest level once before at the World Cup 2002 and he was excellent.

The biggest problem he had at Liverpool was that he never got to play in his best position. He didn’t fit into the system and that was Benitez’s fault for buying him - not Keane’s.

Yea to be fair he never got a fair crack at Pool. If its true (as it seems to be) and Rafa never wanted him then you do have to feel sorry for him.

Sky claim Manchester City have finally hiked uop their bid for Roque Santa Cruz to the 25m Blackburn are demanding.

Crazy but fair play to Blackburn. Milk them for every penny they have.

I still dont rate Cruz, think its crazy to be paying that money for him. I undestand he has had one good season in the Prem, but I prefer to remember the pile of utter (thanks sledge, a great word) scutter that filled Bayern shirt for 4 or so seasons.

You should be getting one of the top 5 strikers in the world for that kind of money. I don’t think Santa Cruz is in that bracket but I can obviously understand why Blackburn are holding out for silly money given who the bidding club are. However, will they risk selling him now, as the deadline is nigh, if they don’t have a replacement lined up?

Cruz has only been a sub of late, with Benni and Roberts manning the posts up front. Is young Derbyshire (the pride of Lancashire) still there?

Derbyshire joined Olympiakos on loan last week.

I think Derbyshire has gone on loan to a greek club til the end of the season…they did bring in diouf but presume they will play him wide

Ah right, knew he was linked, but thought it was too bizarre to ever happen.

Word now is that Roque Santa Cruz to City thang will only happen if City give Allardyce one of their strikers in return as well as the 25m.

Manchester City have rejected an 8m bid from Newcastle for highly promising youngster Michael Johnson.
