I’d an interview today, might have had a small chance of success with it but didn’t have the time to put into preparing properly - did about one full day of prep - and took a run at it as a practice run for the future. Went alright without setting the world alight. You’d want to put serious time and effort into properly nailing it is my main takeaway.

Did an additional interview as gaeilge for extra credit when I joined the civil service first!

Youre far better off relying on intelligence, personality, ability etc…but its not for everyone

Thanks. No expectations of it. Hopefully the feedback may be somewhat useful. I’ll be hopeful of a result when I take a run at it again with sufficient work put in, probably in two years or so.

I have a job spec and my CV to review before a deadline for a job on Friday. Not sure when I’ll get time to get to it. Takes work alright.

Half preparing is a symptom of not really wanting to leave the current role or comfort zone. I’ve been there too, recently enough.

I’d be of the opinion that you should do a job interview every 12 to 18 months to keep the eye in and have the CV up to date.
