John Delaney/ tugging off half the forum

If your explaining using a letter sent by FIFA to the FAI as evidence to underpin your argument that everything was dealt with in an appropriate manner you are definitely losing.

Have been away last few days so haven’t really been following this story but as much and all of an eejit as he is getting 5 bar for nothing is so good days work for JD!

He fucks a stunner , is paid a fortune and loves a bet and a drink

Fucking legend John is

Long term contracts rules.

But anyway it doesn’t really apply. As I said above that was a plausible explanation for it hitting revenue in separate years but that was before anyone saw the accounts. Looks more likely it was just written down based on likelihood of repayment based on what was released last night.

At least they were there.

Likelihood of repayment:rolleyes:

Tony O’donoghue inspected the documents on behalf of the nation. Unlike some here he knows his loan documents from his confidentiality agreements and he has given it the all clear.

I wonder will John Delaney be getting roaring drunk in Berlin tonight and smash head first into a glass door in a shopping centre?

It’s extremely disappointing that people are still questioning this after everything was clarified yesterday. It’s a story of the FAI negotiating an extremely good deal and those who misread it early on are refusing to back down despite all the evidence to the contrary.

+1.

A bizarre reaction from some on this. An excellent deal from a ridiculously weak negotiating position.

The government must be fucking thrilled peddling this non story to distract from the siteserv corruption.*

 • allegedly.

If I was Alexis Tsipras I know who i would be asking for counsel on negotiation strategy.

I’ve met John Delaney and I can attest for the character of the man, I would trust his integrity with my life. I hope that will be enough for all the naysayers to desist from these scurrilous, damaging and spiteful allegations. I would actually consider John Delaney a friend.

In the past few months we learned that mr Delaney sings rebel songs and negotiated a 5 million windfall for oirish football, somehow some gimps see this as a negative

John Delaney stabbed Joe McDonnell in the back and stabbed the great Sepp Blatter in the back. He’s a fucking blueshirt cunt whose ancestors were in the RIC.

Sepp should spill the beans on him now.

What I don’t understand is why he chose to go on radio and confirm it this week of all weeks. Then to bemoan the fact that it gets caught up in the rest of the FIFA stories seems odd, or at best naive.
Come down to Limerick City, where assocation football is the number one played game, the junior clubs have third world facilities in comparison to the rugby and even GAA clubs. I blame the FAI hierachy for taking home massive salary’s while at the same time the grass roots games is suffering.

Limerick FC had to play in Thomond Park ffs up until recently, they are back in the Markets Field tonight only due to JPMcManus. Where is the money going is my question???
Tbf a quick look at the various financial accounts of the respective bodies will tell you why. The FAI are dwarfed in turnover by the GAA and IRFU. The IRFU have the 6 Nations cash cow and the GAA is the GAA.

The cash cow for soccer are the major tournaments.

Delaney would argue that he has improved the asset base of the FAI considerably since taking over. They have a share in a stadium and training base. Obviously he had a big stroke of luck in that but conversely he’s been unlucky that Irish development pathways in England have gone to shit in the past 15 years which few would have forseen to the extent it has.

What happened to the money of the 90s is the real joke.

I would his second biggest problem is that he loves the sound of his own voice. His third biggest problem is that he doesn’t know what’s going to come out of his mouth until he says it.

Stick up the accounts please mate. Also can you clarify when yhe 40 million tv money is due

Leave Dela alone, he has been too busy hopping from house to house in malahide to be concerned about such trifling matters as fifa loans from a previous decade.

What 40 mill?

IRFU income last year was close to 70 mill and the GAA’s 56. FAI was 36 million.
