John Delaney/ tugging off half the forum

Stick to Italian football mateā€¦ LOI fans detest Delaney.

Seems to be EPL barstoolers who hate him actually. League of Ireland clubs have been very supportive of him during this whole saga.

Questionable decision making from a so called top-class CEO.

Questionable source.

The Ewan McKennas, Dan McDonnells and Johnny Wards of this world sit around their phones and laptops all day every day trying to make themselves relevant tweeting and talking shit on Newstalk.

John Delaney travels the length and breadth of the country developing soccer from the bottom up. He goes to UEFA and earns respect. He goes to FIFA and mugs them off. He gives his employer a dig out when needed.

It makes me sick to see a good man be taken down by a bunch of nobodies

This is absolutely hilarious. Some lads are only dying to tug the corporate forelock.

This whole story brings me back to two things.

i) Declan Lynchā€™s classic line about how "the FAI are the dysfunctional sporting body that other dysfunctional sporting bodies call ā€œthe Galacticosā€, and
ii) The Apres Match sketch where an FAI man who is a thinly veiled parody of John Delaney suddenly finds his sleeve spontaneously combusting and remains unaware of it.

Pat Hickey was indeed a questionable source for tickets so much so he was in chokey for a spell where touting is illegal. A top top CEO would not associate with such neā€™er do wells.

I said LOI fans.

what do people want? a person hired to manage and direct an organisation worth hundreds of millions of pound to be paid 80k or some mickey mouse salary, and be open to corruption and stroke pulling because of their shit wages, jesus christ, no wonder ireland is in the state it is in with that kind of thinking

Theyā€™re struggling to break 50 million revenue and pre tax profits arenā€™t up on 10 million.

They are an SME.

And I said it seems to be the EPL barstoolers like yourself who seem to be the outraged ones.

A large set of butcherā€™s knives has apparently just been delivered to FAI headquarters in Abbotstown.

Youā€™re an Italian, SPL barstooler passionately defending the CEO of an organisation you have absolutely no interest in.

Ah here now, that is a simpletons POV.

Sports organisations are made up of an enormous number of stakeholders including a great many volunteers and participants.

The idea that you can go in and say they only have X number of employees or revenue is a nonsense.

Iā€™m Italian and a calcio enthusiast.

Those stakeholders or volunteers arenā€™t paid by the FAI.

Administration for every grass roots league is done at a local level.

The FAI run off two adult knockout cup competitions and even these are administered locally and regionally until the very latter stages.

Having been involved at every level of grassroots I can assure you the FAI are very much hands off.

Your definition is even off as per the CA and upcoming financial statements.

The fact that they are not paid gives you a clue about the complexities of the organisation. Normal companies do not have stakeholders with no financial incentives like a sports organization.

The idea that the FAI is a SME is farcical.

He doesnā€™t understand the complexities
