I forgot to mention the success of Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers in Europe(had any league of Ireland side done anything in Europe in the previous 20 years bar Shelbourne 2004?), the performances of our underage sides in recent years and of course being on track to be debt free for the Aviva by next year.

Delaney doesnât have a great record on that front so donât see what he would have brought to the table there. Under Delaneyâs tenure Eire soccer stadia remained largely in the same decrepit state they have been in since the early 1970âs. Delaney was happen to continue FAI policy of the Irish rugby community bailing out the scummy Eire soccer crowd by hosting nearly all their international matches.
Amidst it all the Gaa bailed both out while they were homeless.
