No more than a knee specialist telling the press that the athlete whose cruciate ligament he has operated on needs to take his recovery slowly. Seems to be a stigma around concussion in rugby, needs to be got rid of and its good that at least in France they have experts discuss it in a balanced way.
This whole sorry mess is just another example of rugby trying to ignore its concussion issues.
They are lining up to kick poor Jonny this week
He has to go
That doctorâs a head banger
If you go to see him youâd want your head examined
Anyone leaving their kids play the game are playing with fire.
Donners was letting Ruby know on their 2FM show last night that Rugby players deserved those Contracts. They were open to serious injuries and potential issues down the road.
Ruby interrupted him to say these lads sign up to play the game and know the risks same as jockeys take their chances for generally worse reward.
Donners exclaimed that Denis Leamy & Ian Dowling have had big hip surgeries and they needed to look after that.
The game has gone too far. Itâs built around contact now whereas other popular sports in Ireland revolve around evasion, speed & skill.
Injuries to jointsâŚHead injuries and more Head injuries.
Itâs getting hard to remember too many games where Sexton hasnât been laid out on the field & subbed soon after. He is brave to his own detriment. He makes tackles No 10âs shouldnât dream of making.
20 years ago Out Halfâs didnât want to know or expect to be doing that.
It seems Par for the course now that bulk and power is key in Rugby at elite level. Rugby doesnât sell itself responsibly to new youngsters looking into the sport imo. Not if those two key targets are the path to the top of the sport.
Nail on the head. We really miss Joe Schmidt.
Johnny would would miss him too, if he could only remember him
Thats exactly it. Iâm not sure if there is another sport that calls tackles collisions. Win the collisions.
First thing that enters my head when I hear collision is a car crash. And it is lauded and seen as a test of masculinity.

Yer man Stander got the ball last Sunday in his own half near the halfway line. Instead of trying to sidestep the Welsh lad standing in front of him, he gritted his teeth and ran straight at him. Pretty fucking pointless.
Schmidtball. If that doesnât work, kick it into the air and run after it, and hit the man with the ball and hope he makes a mistake.
Yeah that stood out for me as well. There was space outside but they are trained to run north south. If you try and run around the contact it is breaking one of the golden rules of rugby. I think they call it straightening the line. You have to earn the right to go wide to the wings by having 20 phases of grunt and mullock in the middle with fellas crashing into each other.

Never offload, you might drop it.
If you run away from your support youâll be isolated and concede a penalty for holding on. Schmidt ball 101
Wingers are best utilised in rucks or chasing up and unders

Zebo was ostracised because he was bad at âresourcing rucksâ
