What he’s really doing is :fishing_pole_and_fish:

We appointed a woman recently who informed us immediately afterwards that she was pregnant and then immediately gave us her planned maternity leave. We’d likely have appointed her anyway, but it seemed sly, and left a very bad taste in the mouth. Small businesses can founder on such things.

What was sly about it?

A lot of insecure men here looking for a hero.

thats some dose

It works a treat down at the golf club.

There are way way too many people of both genders going to college in Ireland . We need more women doing trades ( how come feminists don’t look for this ) and more men too.

too many now thinking that a degree equals a big wage .

How dare she not give you control over her uterus.

deary me

How soon after hiring her did she announce it?

So will you now have to employ maternity cover effectively costing double? You’d have to question the mind set here alright… The company are short staffed and need to employ to up output… I know what I’ll do, I’ll go for the job and then tell them I’ll be taking 6-9 months off. That should give them exactly what they are looking for.

how is it paying double mate?

think you are wrong

If she’s still in probation then they don’t have to extend it, or would that be racist/sexist/discriminatory/illegal?

If she’s already worked there beyond her probation period then she’s served her time for a sufficiently long enough timeframe for @flattythehurdler to hand over control of her uterus (cc @Sidney).

I’m not 100% on maternity law, mate – will she receive full salary for most of maternity?
