Sugar thing is totally over blown. And a sugar tax is the most ridiculous thing ever.
Thypical government and media ignoring the science and the real hard work neededâŚ

Fuck me pink
Fcuk it I am lethargic today and Dunnes are doing the litre Innocent Smoothie for âŹ3.
Do it to fook.
An Innocent smoothie is a guilty pleasure.
I think you are the one ignoring the science mate. High sugar consumption is linked to obesity, diabetes, hypertension etc etc. Thereâs been a lot of stuff that came out recently showing the sugar lobby paid researchers to blame obesity etc. on fats and cholesterol since way back and the science is only recovering now.
A sugar tax wonât change much (though it should reduce consumption slightly as it has in France), but at least the people costing the health service will be paying their share.
Giving up sugar isnât a magic bullet or anything but itâs an easy lifestyle change to make that can have a big impact.
City willing to pay 25 million for him
Its not easy and this is where you are showing your complete ignorance.
Most countries have shown little or no change since putting in a sugar tax.
Lifestyke, exercises, sleep, less driving, less sitting are all far more important than sugar.
Tax sugar and ounish the poor. Generally uneducated people make the poor choices and get easy foods. That wonât change, it will just put th out of pocket more.
Obesity is due to environment, lack of education, economic woes and many other factors. Sugar is a symptom of the issue. Demonizing sugar will not work. Never has in the past with sugar or anything else similar. You have to ask the question why do people have high sugar diets? Not putting sugar as the starting point and saying its the âbig issueâ with health. Sugar is just replacing the fats issue. Its just another sideways movement. Movement is the answer. Less work is the answer, more time outside is the answer, more walking, more doing. The Swedes and other Scandanavians have introduced some brilliant incentives in recent years, like a repair tax break.
A tax break for people who repair items. Thats environmental as much as anything, but it shows the correct mindset. They are reducing the working day to improve productivity. They are listening to the science. UK, Ireland et al listen to the lobbyists. They have no interest in a healthier nation. No interest in climate control.
People are so fucking weak and unhealthy now its criminal. Grip strength is a great indicator of health. What i see day in day out is terrible grip strength. People do fucking nothing now.
If you understood to any level Anatomy & Physiology, Neuromuscular Science, Biomechanics and you watched the way people are now you would not be blaming sugar for everything.
Most dieticians and nutritionists i deal with are avsolutely tearing their hair out with this sugar thing. They know deomizing anything fails. And they know the issues are way deeper. I had a Nutritionist in a couple of weeks ago with my clients and she surprised them all with her approach. Do not abstain, do not deny yourself. She said she has a taz bar a day to keep her chocolate addiction at bay. She doesnât go mental on a saturday.
I would have a rule with clients, if you see something on RTE or any other main news/tv station, take it with a significant pinch of salt. In fact thinking the opposite is often a good barometer.
It seems Celtic playing this kid has long terms gains for him and Celtic
Thatâs terrible dietary advice. A prime example why people shouldnât be getting nutritional advice from sports coaches
Dont listen to experts on panel shows on RTE.Listen to Persil
That is a very informative post
That sounds like a little tradition of yours.
Yes, listening to what governments tell us is bad for your health. That would be a common belief amongst health professionals.
so Celtic are resigned to losing Dembele very soon.
By putting him in this game it ensures maximum compensation for them and more options and offers for Dembele
Can the naysayer apologize now?
