Karamoko Dembele

Or you do the right thing by a kid and let him live his life.

Anyway, i don’t remember that being the McGeedy atory, but tgese flip flop players say anything to anyone at any time so who knows.

What the fuck is declaring?

It means nothing.

I bet his life is a damn sight better than most 14 year old kids.

You brought it up, mate - not me.

So ask yourself.

McGeady:

Scotland boss Vogts and Tommy Burns have already tried and failed to persuade him to change his mind but the talented starlet, who also attracted interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, has committed his future to the country of his grandparents.
“It’s not an issue at all,” he shrugged innocently. “Ireland came first to ask me and I have been with them ever since.
“I have been involved in the Under-18s and Under-19s and I wanted to stay on with them.
“I qualified because my grandparents were Irish but I don’t think my parents are too bothered that I chose Ireland.
“I think the rules have changed now. I am fairly happy and settled with Ireland.
“Brian Kerr actually took my team and he is now the first-team manager. I was with him for Under-18s last year.
“He had a couple of chats with me and said if I scored a couple of goals and take my chance in the first team that maybe I will step up in the future.”

You see thats the public ignorance to all this. Its very often not.

Academy life can be quite shit and its why many sports and organisations are moving away from it, except British soccer which continues to defy science and go the other way, now holding u6 academies. Fucking idiots.

So no declaration, just got picked for a team and went.

Do you think his 14 year old mates would be extremely jealous of the life he is living now?

I bet they would.

He has an opportunity most kids his age will never get, it may work out, it may not but he has that chance.

You are the one saying it means something by using it and using James McCarthy as an example to back the point.

All just to support an uneducated view on countries chasing 14 year olds.

This kind of exposure actually lessens their chances of making it.

It was a declaration, in the exact same vein as McGeady and McCarthy. I’m not sure but I think McGeady’s might have been a permanent choice at 15 before subsequent rules allowed him to change back if he wished.

Dembele has the option down the line to switch allegiances - there is absolutely no difference in the situations bar a few months between the ages they made these choices.

And you brought declarations into the discussion you lunatic, why is it when your faux outrage has been exposed you try and diminish the suitability of your selective criteria? It would take a special case of simpleton to make such a massive contradiction so swiftly.

I’m saying this is why countries do it.

You seem to be of the opinion this kid is being abused.

Was Messi abused when he was packed up off to a foreign country at 13?

Its adults should be making the decisions fella. A long term view is needed.

Its becoming very apparent that nobody knows who is good enough beliw the age of 14/15. Thats why some countries now, like Sweden, are starting to abolish academies and are putting the money into club coaching instead to bring up the level of coaching so more kids are exposed to good coaching and there is also less influence of the Age Related Effect.

This has 2 advantages, it means when it comes to picking elite teams the net is wider. It also will keep oarticipation rates up and generally gove a better sporting experience to ALL kids.

The elite is not the most important thing. Its well down the list in fact.

And in an awful lot of these academies the coaching is shit and they are not developing them at all. One academy in England has had 4 u11 ACL’s. WTF. They are full of clueless ex players who coach them like adults.

Yes.

In the near future movement of kids below 16 will be abolished.

McCarthy and McGeedy were selected for Ireland.

Thats fair enough. Family decision to make.

This is the English FA getting in a 14 year olds ear. There should be no announcments, no media, no bullshit. They are putting the kid in no-win situations. The FA should be ashamed of themselves. But thats nothing new.

Kids guardians make decisions for their kids in every facet of life, this is no different.

The child was born in England you raving loonball.

Of course it is. Its in the public domain you twaat.

So what? Its still in the media.

What the fuck has the media to do with it?

This is your faux outrage against a 14 year old being a wanted commodity, it is nothing new. It’s as old as the hills.

Celtic have handled this excellently in balancing their need to protect the boy and their own interests.
