Kev

We had an in house challenge game once, got in a real ref and all. He abandoned the game after 40 mins due to the abuse and fighting.

Would this be in Limerick?

One (Cian Lynch) will definitely start this summer in Inter County Championship.

Maybe 3 more will see gametime. TJ Brennan, Niland and Mikey Kiely.

5 or 6 years ago there would have been 20 lads in a Fitzgibbon final playing regularly at Senior Inter County.

The facts are indisputable. These young lads are useless.

Hmmm…

I would not put him grilling tofu.

Imo, a lot of blame game with regards to coaching/coaches is too easily placed in the method as opposed to the personality.

Some lads just fail to adjust to differing panels, players are cute as fuck and if they smell bullshit it’s usually over before it starts.

NUIG were down Darren Morrissey and Brian Concannon who will both see game time when fit for Galway. Fleming and Walsh ain’t far off it either. It would have been interesting to see what McGlynn would have done if not injured.

You know as well as me Connolly and O Mara would start for Tipp if they committed to the panel. Corcoran will be close to starting for KK. Rodgers will be starting for Clare. He missed yesterday through injury. Twomey had already made the 26 for Cork in championship.

Stop berating young lads.

I’d assume you organise lots of challenge matches in that instance?

He’s a gas Cunt

Playing any sided games is pointless unless lads are taken aside and told what they’re doing is right or more than likely wrong. That’s the key.

Bryan O’Mara looks to have serious intercounty potential. Ciarán Connolly was asked into Tipperary panel. Cian Galvin may feature with Clare. Darragh Corcoran hurled Leinster Championship last summer. Gearóid O’Connor is on Tipperary panel.

I guess Jack Fitzpatrick is on Galway panel.

IT Carlow should have beaten NUIG. They have, as current intercounty men, Niall Brassil, SĂŠamus Casey, Eoin Cody, Cathal Dunbar, Rory Higgins, Marty Kavanagh, Cian Kenny and Chris Nolan.

Surely the situation is not that bad? UCC had a lot of intercounty men.

Kev was a grand chap if not mental.

But, all his chat is self serving and he couldn’t give a Bollocks about the game in reality.

If he could make it in rugby or hockey he’d wouldn’t be commenting on Gaa related matters for anything other than a rise.

You’d have to admire the cunt in a way.

Were 2014 Fitzgibbon Cup lineouts stronger? Not madly so, at the time.

CORK IT Mark Ellis, Jamie Coughlan, John 'Bubbles O’Dwyer, Bill Cooper.

UCC James Barry, Cormac Murphy, Alan Cadogan, Seamus Harnedy, Dan McCormack, Conor Lehane, Jamie Barron, Colm Spillane, Shane O’Donnell.

More wise words.

Waterford IT team that won in 2014 was average enough.

Connolly and O’Mara are both 23 this year and have a sum total of 2 League appearances between them. To say they’d both definitely start championship is a massive stretch. Anyway they aren’t going to be playing.

I had high hopes for Morrissey but I’m beginning to think hes not overly special. Concannon is wildly inconsistent but has potential. He must be 24 now too so ought to be making it.

I’m old enough to remember 2012 when you had proper young lads coming through. 19 year olds like Tony Kelly, Colm Galvin and Seadna Morey starting for Clare. The Dow hitting frees for Limerick. Sweetman cutting through teams for Cork. Johnny Glynn coming off the bench and scoring goals in an All Ireland final. At 19!!!

20 year olds like Cillian Buckley and Walter Walsh were breaking onto the great Kilkenny Team.

Conor Cooney was playing for Galway that year too as an under 20.

Nowadays we’re giving lads pats on the back for making a few cameo appearances at 23 years of age.

The UL team next year will be heavily stacked with lads who will get championship games over the next 3/4 months.

Brennan, Corcoran, Kiely, Rodgers, Twomey, O Grady, Galvin. Mason is as well known as many players. I dont think he is on the KK panel presently but was before.

Add those to the 5 lads on their fresher team who have played NHL already this year. English, Coughlan, Fitzgerald, Crotty and O’ Neill.

Explaining….

What part of my post do you disagree with?

The last 3 YHOTY Awards have been a total joke. Literally no competition. Maybe 3 lads actually eligible and that’s with token nominations…

Someone mentioned 2014. That year you’d proper competition.

Austin Gleeson, TDB, Bennett, Barron, Dunford, Dillon eligible from Waterford alone.

Wexford had Liam Ryan and Mcdonald starting at 19.

Limerick had The Dow.

Tipp had Barrett.

Galway had Glynn tearing Padraic Maher a new one.

Clare had Tony Kelly, Shane O’Donnell, Colm Galvin and probably a couple more. A 20 year old Jamie Shanahan nearly saved them down in Wexford Park.

Cork had Alan Cadogan starting every game.

Dublin had Cian O’Callaghan and Colm Cronin starting.

That’s nearly 20 lads eligible.

But but but Covid… but but but S&C… but but but…

The highest standard Fitzgibbon cup game in recent memory was UL v Mary I in the Fitzgibbon final of 2016.

Even the subs bench had fiercely talented players.

I don’t really follow educational or parochial hurling, but your argument seems fairly compelling based on the evidence you cite.
