Explaining and all that malarkey
Hard to keep a handle on all those horses he’s on
There’s my post. It’s clear I knew who Mick Dempsey was. I didn’t realise he stepped away in October 2019, and shur how would I when there hasn’t been an Inter County game of note played since?
That post is clearly edited
Thank you.
If I genuinely think something, I have always been happy to say it. Of course, there are diplomacy and respect considerations in most utterances, which is proper. But I wouldn’t come from a family shy of speaking of their mind… And so be it.
People overcomplicating there. If you do not want, genuinely, to manage against your own club, at any point, options become extremely limited (and this issue includes going to a club outside the county who might meet Ballyhale Shamrocks in Leinster or All Ireland series).
A parish man of mine, the evening the news broke, rang me in a tizzy, having got wind early. “You’ll never guess where Henry is going!” he says. “Go on, give a guess!”
“Thomastown,” says I.
Stunned petulant silence. Then: “How did you know, you fucker…?”
I says: “I didn’t, but logic is a good friend.”
Henry is very bright and logical.
1996 calls bullshit on this.
Shudder
Henry?
Are you Henry Martin?
Thomastown a good young Senior team masquerading as an intermediate side. He’ll get them promoted and have a good shot at the Intermediate club all ireland if it goes ahead.
All from a club barely a few km from his home. Handy.
Tadgh Crowley wouldn’t have it
Henry positioning himself at intermediate club level to scout players there as he’s already down with the entire senior club scene:joy: the shrewd lad who told you that is slipping…
He’s in Thomastown because he’s sees them as an easy mark for his 100% record…sure if they lose the players will get the blame anyway.
Who’s the Michael Comerford lad doing the S&C?
24 years. Some run. the bloody mindedness that got them all those AIs and especially the ones they had no right to win won’t let him leave I suppose
Is Mick Dempsey a big loss to Kilkenny - did he fall out with Cody or was it a case of the river meeting the sea which is probably case now with Cody himself
The Kilkenny thread wasn’t this busy when the cunts were winning All Irelands, something is definitely up
He was more of a city soccer head growing up as far as I recall.
He’s in the army or was anyway. He used to be called Captain Colgate because of his very white teeth!! He did the S & C with O’Loughlins before moving into the county setup. He’s one of the Comerfords from Newpark (but unless you are a townie that won’t mean much).
He worked with Richie Power to get him back playing in 2014/2015 and deservedly banked great credit for it
He’s a massive loss and they didn’t fall out.
Mick has a few plans of his own, restoring Joe’s to the top table will always have been on his mind. He’s a great chance over the next year or two. The IT Carlow gig is a nice one too. Well earned tbf.
