Kilkenny GAA thread

In the last 30 years how many Kk All Ireland winners went to Thurles CBS??

Aidan Fogarty the best one anyway.

Seething… Schooling…

The TFK Liga lexicon. Mushy stuff for mush heads.

Goo goo.

I think Paul Shelley scaring the piss out of the entire full forward line was the end of us that day.

True enough… One of the worst days following Kilkenny. Ever. I was fit to be tied going home.

That comment rings a bell.

But DM just did not train on. Happens. Hurling with a Junior club is a massive disadvantage as well.

Losing an All Ireland under 21 final by 4 pts.

Ye’ve had too many good days!

It was a sickening day… Well I remember it.

Did Matty Walsh (The Fenians) go to Thurles CBS? If memory serves, he has a medal as a sub from 1993.

Wasn’t there a few Mackeys and somebody else I can’t think of from Mooncoin on the KK panel during the Cody era?

Kilkenny in 1995 snuck a Leinster U21 final off a good Wexford team in Carlow that they had no real business winning. That Wexford team might have been a better match in the final to the robust Tipperary approach.

The liga lexicon gave you a schooling on some of these Ballyhale stars might not rate your influence on their careers as highly as you do…then you seethed to the extent of badly rattled…but don’t fear I’m South so yer in the clear…Twitter away with witless Limerick men.

Diarmuid Mackey got two Celtic Crosses as unused sub 2002-2003. Eddie Mackey got one as unused sub in 2003.

Could not say if either man ever appeared for a minute in championship.

“badly rattled”

You know so much about me. And I know so little about you.

Does anyone wonder why?

Dee(Diarmaid) Mackey and his cousin Eddie were both fine club hurlers,Dee a deadly forward won an All Ireland as a panel member around 06/07 or that never struck a championship ball though…these lads got less chances than lads would these Days…class Kilkenny team always through the front door, less matches etc.

Nobody cares…less myself…rattled ok.

Surely on the field only.

Tickerlivan or Aclare for the Diamonds townland depending on which way your travelling

The Diamond ended his days in Callan. I have no recollection of him but I remember Maureen his wife, a kind and good woman.
His young fella is representing the anti-coursing crowd I believe. High profile law type.

Is Eddie’s father also Eddie? Farmers on the Carrick side of Mooncoin. Spent loads of time in at their place as a young lad. Good people

That’s the place I think he’s Tom, salt of the earth types.

Tom is right I think. The grandfather might have been Eddie I think? Could be guts of 30 years since I was around their place. A brother of Tom’s was a great friend of my father’s, but unfortunately passed away in a car accident in early 1980s I think.
