There was always a GAA and soccer pitch there on the Fair Green.
Never heard of a cricket ground.

I don’t know tbh but the Fair Green would be perfect for cricket. First Gaelic Football match under gaa rules was played up there.

I’d say it was played in Callan lads was it?

Kilkenny would traditionally be a cricket county so that would make sense

In the pre-Famine period, the game was anchored on the great demesnes, like Gowran Castle, Castlecomer, Foulkscourt, Bessborough, and Desart Court near Callan.

Anywhere outside of Ballyhale or Tullaroan I’d imagine
