Adrian Mullen & Eoin Cody both look pretty class tbh.
I actually think that the talent in the current Kilkenny panel is pretty good. Maybe lacking a really top defender.

It can all be turned around very fast. Especially in a place with the tradition and participation levels of Kilkenny. The whacking will have to go. So that means unfortunately so will Cody.
I think he’s getting more than most could out of this crop. If he could allow someone with a bit of modern tactical nous in beside him to take that side of things and he could remain the driving force that would be the ideal I think.
But Cody can’t seem to let anyone share the responsibility
I don’t know . Cody is still young and coltish
Mullen is a talent but does he have the athleticism for the modern game ??
The article is interesting but I have two takes
1- the quarry isn’t great there . Their last few u21 teams were poor
2 - their current senior team aren’t great but they should not have lost to that cork team
Mullen has the near exact same running style as his Uncle Liam. Its uncanny.
Kilkenny people would be better off targeting St. Kieran’s College with their ire than taking cheap shots at the great Brian Cody.
Firstly because of their monopoly of all the young hurlers in Kilkenny… You can only play 15…
Secondly because of their commitment to producing big, awkward mullockers suited to winter hurling but who get found out by the time the Inter County minor and under 20 championships come around in ‘high summer’.
You said the same about the record scorers in a (Summer) All Ireland Hurling Final
Ah stop
St Kieran’s have won what about 6 All Ireland College’s in the last 7 years pre-Covid? And they lost the other final to Our Lady’s…
Yet Kilkenny haven’t been doing anything of note in minor or under 20/21 in about 7 years…
My point is actually a very good one… Questions need to be asked there instead of trying to organise a coup against Cody.
.
It is an OGS situation - the rest of us are quite happy to see them leave the man in place without a plan for replacement
We’ll fill our boots in the meantime
Kk posters,
Is Geoff Brennan playing with Gowran the same player who used to play with ballyragget?
What’s the story there?
Kilkenny were in 3 of the last 4 minor finals and have never given two solid shites about u20/21
Nonsense. They won 5 u21 All Irelands in 10 years between 99 and 08. Most of their best players of their golden periods coming from those teams.
The importance of minor seems to be diminishing more and more every year. Galway and Kilkenny have been successful at minor recently but the Munster counties have won 12 of the last 13 All Ireland u20/21s including the last 10 in a row and most years the second best team is also in Munster. This is coming to fruition at senior level now as well
In that same period they won 6 senior all irelands.
You have no problem with a man saying that kilkenny haven’t done anything of note at minor in 7 years despite them being in 3 of the last four finals, I take it
Exactly, based on the players from those u21 winning teams from the decade prior.
Glenmore 0-19 Thomastown 1-13
Thomastown looked a bit headless in the first half against the wind. Better in the second half but always playing catchup. Eoin Murphy MOTM at centre back. No luck for Henry here.
Brutal management decisions from Thomastown. Galway after being sold a pup here
Henry freed himself up for the task at hand.
Excellent management skills you’d have to say.
He needed to quieten Murphy and leave Donnelly inside FF for the second half. He done neither.
