Kilkenny GAA thread

I was walking by there the other day and was very surprised to see some kind of hurling training taking place in the school grounds.

You sure it wasn’t protestant hurling?

Lacrosse?

Before Dunmore was built the KK seniors trained in Kilkenny College in winter under the lights. They also trained in Carlow in the IT

Yeah they’ve had a nice all weather pitch since the 90s.

Lies, no way a girl from there was on the country side of the Cu.

The Protestant girls love a bit of rough every now and again

Where did it all go wrong? Ye’ll be in the Joe McDonagh in 10 years

What surprises me about Kilkenny is the amount of underage hurlers they have with the hurley caught wrong. Basic stuff you’d think that would be picked up early in a hurling county.

RHOT or LHOT?

Left hand on top while right handed strikers.

Ah sure it’s only Kilkenny

Fair few seniors through the years had that too, Aidan Fogarty and Wally Walsh being prime examples.

What happened now?

Buff says Laois beat us in the minor.

Sure what harm, I see Offaly beat Dublin too. Great for both of them

Getting it done and dusted reasonably early this year.

Wally Walsh (when he’s been playing) must have one of the best conversion ratios of forwards of the last 5 years for shots on goal, so that grip isn’t doing him much harm.

No Railyard, no party.

In fairness he has a patch on the right wing from about 50 metres out to almost the endline where he is unerring when travelling forward.
