Was Henry still over Thomastown this year? Sounded like a thriller.

Just back in the capital after a successful day for the fort. Absolutely great entertainment, lucky the Harvester is back open. To give TTown credit they kept coming back but Danesfort were the better team after a shakey opening. Paddy’s puck outs were brilliant, apart from one maybe but great job. Des Dunne was outstanding throughout, was given the job of matching up with Donnelly and he grew into the game. Paul Murphy also excellent. Richie got some Richie scores but best forward on show was young Jack Bruton.

‘Bridge lads you mean surely……

Naw, they didn’t want him back. Went with a group of selectors.

Sounded like a game where somebody needed to take charge and get lads to mark-up at the expense of all else.

I’m sure there are some given TTowns and Danesforts geography, any of note?

No. Couldn’t be classed as that in terms of the match. Macro view, absolutely. Significantly less fit (against an older team) and no leaders in the middle 3rd of the pitch. Can’t even find a curse that was working against them.

Dunne was class. Was brilliant at the non-glamorous stuff. Key man today along with a couple of the young forwards, and RH of course. Not a huge amount of sympathy being floated around, bar anyone with relatives on the team.

Taggy was raving about Robbie Donnelly post game on the wireless, not warranted?

Robbie was good, yeah, but he’s hurled better games than that 2/3 times this year let alone the last few years.

Possibly an element of sour grapes on my part/solidarity with my friend @Piles_Hussain, but 3 family members listening in from afar said that the commentary and coverage on kclr was nothing short of disgraceful in terms of the basics of public service. Some questioned were they at the actual game or knew the teams, or could even do basic counting of 3 points for a goal etc. The word “ape” was used by 2 of them to describe the main commentator. Who was it?

Commentary was poor, no jist of what was happening in general play only to confirm who had scored at either end.
KCLR seemed at pains post match to announce social media posts and calls they had received lauding their pundits, seemed odd enough.
Ronny(Adrian Ronan) was main commentator, who can tbf be decent at times but today seemed he was auditioning as a step in for D’unbelievables’.

Was it Taggy with him?

The Donnelly at 13 looked to have Danesfort in trouble but tbf to dfort, they sorted it out on the line and the lad that was on him ended up scoring a couple of points from further up the field.

Twas, Fantastic banter about Tae, maltesers and chocolate biscuits. Taggy TBF seemed bored by it.

The two Hogan brothers.

Callan men

Nope. Wise man.

There will be leadership shown tomorrow all day in the Jerpoint Inn, a day too late but living up to our stereotype. Phenomenally embarrassing situation.

Callan father, 'Bridge mother. Old news now. Sure it must be twenty years ago now that they were dragged off to Danesfort. We won’t get into all that again…

So if I’m hearing you correctly, you want someone from Callan to let it go?

Was with the auld boy last evening and we chatted about the Windgap result. Dad would have family, friends, customers from up there, deep ties. He stated he was “fuckin delighted they lost as they took those cunts in, fuck ‘em”. In short, e we don’t forget.

And rightly so.

If you don’t hate all of your neighbouring parishes and delight in their misery then you’re not doing it right
