Kilkenny GAA thread

Where is this happening?

on Radio 1. Over now

Ah … Irish Radio … cheers.

Once we got a run on Tipp, we mowed them down. It was the same old Tipp again – shaping and hiding behind their bulls***.

“They hadn’t the ba**s to come out and take us on man for man. We also believed that we could intimidate some of their forwards.”

I’d be laughing at the Tipp lads when they say Kilkenny are obsessed with them, but there seems to be a lot of truth to it

There was a thing in Kk going back to the 1960s and is deeply ingrained in their hurling DNA and it is due to a belief that they never “manned up” to Tipp those years .

Ah shur we’re obsessed with everyone these days

It’s a good job @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy didn’t catch this or he’d go buck-ape on the KK posters.
God help poor oul’ @Fran when he hears the podcast.

Unwise by Jackie is the best I can offer…

Is this podcast anywhere?

Yes on Rte radio site . Today SOR section . Not as bad as impression given here .

TIpp have a winning championship record over Kilkenny that reads 14-12 in our favour. This rankles with quite a few of them and they could find themselves in the doldrums for a few years. Although the only stat that matters really is the number of All Ireland successes and that will never be overhauled I would think.

Interesting stat. On average when appearing in All Irelands - success rate when getting there.

Tipp - 70%
Cork - 61%
KK - 58%
Limerick - 44%
Wexford - 35%
Gawlay - 20%

Cheers I’ll give it a listen anyway

“Flaky” Bubbles has scored more from play in 4 games against Kilkenny than “King” Henry got in 9 games against Tipp

It’s the same way as Man United fans look to Liverpool as being superior to them.

It’s a 67.5% winning rate. It was a lot better than that
before the long Tipperary decline, pushing 80%. In 1965 the Tipperary record in All Ireland finals read Won 21 and Lost 6 from 27. In the 13 they’ve appeared in since 1965, Tipperary have won 6 and lost 7.
