Three senior Leinsters to our name, mate!
All the mullinavat hurlers play football, which is a Big advantage. Unlike other clubs where you’d have a mix of senior and junior b hurlers making up the football team.
The Tullaroan team that won the Junior final looked to be more along those lines. A few of the senior hurlers involved though. Is there an intermediate championship?
I’m pretty sure the day I saw them that there was a recently retired kk senior IC hurler with medals falling out of his o Neill pockets playing.
Informative rating. Wicklow still on zero. I think Wicklow along with Fermanagh are the two counties without a provincial title in football.
Paul Murphy?
Think so yes.
We used to line out the team in the exact same positions we play in hurling
Mullinavat?
Correct
Tullaroan only started football last 4 or 5 years.
Glenmore won the intermidiate. 12 teams in senior and maybe 8 intermidiate which is decent
Murphy to his credit gave it full pelt with the footballers after he stopped with the hurlers. Dunno if he’s still playing, he gave an interview saying they should be playing in the league. I think this was around 2023 when they played NY in the junior final in Croke Park, and scored that soccer goal.
He was a great keeper underage. Has a couple of Irish underage caps if I remember correctly.
All the footballers I saw gave it full pelt. There was a nasty injury in that game.
