When it comes to following limerick hurling, much like a certain few posters views on society and government, belief is more important than reality.

If I was John Kiely, the Limerick manager, I would tell my young side to give the ball to the likes of Kyle Hayes and to run at Kilkenny, do what Limerick did well against Clare - run at the opposition.
There is a lack of pace in the Kilkenny defence and these Limerick lads are young, they have had a bit of success at underage, and they should be really hungry to have a go.
I would encourage them to be Limerick too - get in the faces of the Kilkenny lads, be tough in the tackle, hound and harass and get the crowd on their side. They are underdogs but I give them a chance, I really do.
If I was Kilkenny manager Brian Cody, and far be it from me to be telling him what to do, I would put my best players in their best positions.

Conor Fogarty to midfield, Padraig Walsh to wing-back, Paul Murphy to corner-back. The dynamic just isn’t right at the moment.
Brian may feel he needs to shuffle things around after 2016 but they weren’t all that far away then and actually led Tipp 10 minutes into the second half of the All-Ireland, so I’m not sure if drastic changes are even needed.
Mick Fennelly’s presence or absence will also have a real bearing on the game, if he plays he will inject a huge amount of confidence into the side.
We could see an upset, but I guess in their own back yard Kilkenny will still feel they have enough to come through.
