Kilkenny v Limerick 2019

Need a 1st touch allied to manic aggression too or it’s pointless.

for about 45/50 mins in 2012 we rattled the fuck out of that great KK side and it gave the team a belief that we were not far off…That’s all a lot of us really want from this Saturday

Buckley will probably man mark Kyle.

Hegarty anywhere bar the edge of the square is pointless imo. He’s similar to Guiney in ways but Guiney has far more hurling in him i think.

Hegarty is completely lost in the inside line, not a chance.

Hegarty at the edge of the square is pointless IMO

I’d disagree strongly with that, Hegarty has never looked comfortable at full-forward at all. He’s not elusive enough or sharp enough hurling-wise to get scores there except against the shittest backs. Wing-forward is his spot in the forwards, he’ll work and work, disrupt clearances, win ball and is more likely to get the space to score.

And I don’t know if Buckley would need to specifically man mark Kyle, he’s more likely just to play his own game and pick up whoever is closest.

I rate Hegarty highly. But am I the only one who thinks he is 2-3 years off really getting to the senior IC standard?

12 hours later and things have turned around completely on the thread.

You guys just don’t see it but you potentially have the Micheal Webster of modern day hurling on your hands.

Don’t worry. By this time tomorrow we’ll have done a full 360 and blind optimisI’m will be restored

Limerick lads wildly overestimating Colin Fennelly’s ability here. He’s a grand hurler but he only scored one goal v Wexford which should have been stopped. The penalties resulted from criminally bad Wexford defending.

Wins frees through sheer pace and work rate. Striking very poor. Still, he hurt us in 2014 when we actually had a decent handle on their other forwards.

He’s the new Breen. cc @Julio_Geordio

You’re probably overestimating the man who will be marking him so.

All the same, it’s nice to hear a KK voice on this thread while we dilly-dally over whether we’ll win or lose by 10 points.

He’d be a fine half back now

The Michael cussen of Limerick hurling

You like em young mate.

He’ll do a job, I can’t ever see him being a really slick hurler. But he’s a good player in his own right and you could never fault his attitude. A sound enough skin too.
