Hon Bertie. Legend

Great driving. Was Bertie from Donegal? The Carkies will be on soon saying that Billy Coleman was a better driver.

And if Bertie spent a wet weekend in Cark the Carkies will claim him as one of their own just like Rory Gallagher

That he was, look how comfortable and easy Gaybo made that interview.

ooft,

anyhow “distane”, but we’ll leave him off

He’s 100% right.

Except for his spelling

I’m not sure of his point. Lots of Irish people want Ireland’s opponents to beat them at rugby. Liverpool and Manchester are not renowned hotbeds of support for the England rugby team, nor their soccer team - there’s widespread apathy and antipathy to both there.

I’m very curious as to why an Irish person would be confused that Irish soccer supporters wouldn’t be shouting for the England rugby team. It appears to display a fundamental misunderstanding of and ignorance about both nationality and class politics in Ireland. It’s like a view you’d expect Andrew Neil or Iain Duncan-Smith to have. Is KillianM2 actually English, perhaps?

i dont know to be honest- id assume he is bemused at the “us” and “them” hordes aka the dublin scoucers and the cork mancs and the carry on of grown men adopting an identity with an industrial city in the UK- this appears to be his way of expressing that feeling - albeit he could have done it better but as we can see prose wouldnt be his strong point from the brief snippet he has made public … at least for now

He seems to be bemused at the Premier League’s popularity beyond England. He seems to be bemused at the popularity of any aspect of popular culture beyond the nation state in which it comes from. Heaven knows what he’d make of an Irish fan of Mark Twain who didn’t support the US in wars abroad.

You’d think lads would grow out of supporting English teams when they reach 18.

Why specify English teams? The point makes no sense unless it applies to teams located in any and every nation state, including Ireland.

Not too many in Ireland supporting red bull Leipzig.

That’s not an answer. It makes no sense to single out a particular country. The point can only make any sense unless it applies to teams from any country, ie. you think nobody should be able to support any sports team beyond their 18th birthday.

That would make some sort of sense as a point but it would also reveal you as an utterly miserable person who urgently needs to stop worrying about what other people are interested in.

As it is, your “point” makes zero sense.

Its embarrassing really

I’m interested in English soccer myself, wouldn’t be worried about results though.

You’re only wasting your own time then. There isn’t much point in watching any sporting contest if you don’t have any interest in the result of it.

Can watch real v Barcelona without supporting either.
