This fucking kills you

It drives you insane even.

Yeah, keeps me awake at night bud.

It must do - you bring it up every second day — the other days you’re looking for an already banned poster, Sid, to be banned

40 seconds or so into this clip is the most un-Paul McGrath like goal ever scored by Paul McGrath.

The Manchester United number 7 made a penetrating run from deep in midfield, beat the offside trap, controlled a through pass beautifully with his right foot, and outpaced the defence before a superb striker’s finish with his left foot into the far corner at the Kop end.

It was a goal which would have done justice to Mo Salah or Lionel Messi.

Sadly for Paul, Jan Molby scored the greatest goal in the history of football later on in the match and Liverpool won the Ye Olde League Cup tie 2-1, so nobody remembers Paul’s superb strike - though the lads at Balls.ie will probably do a piece about it in the next couple of days after seeing this.

How slow was everyone else if both Jan Molby and Paul McGrath outpaced most of their opposition?

Was at that game

Not til the weekend

Mark Lawrenson was a very quick defender and the best tackler in the game, very reminiscent of McGrath in his tackling actually. McGrath didn’t actually outpace him in that clip, Lawrenson made up two or three yards on him, but it was a brilliantly timed run by McGrath, the quickest I’ve ever seen him run and he manoeuvred the chance very nicely onto his left side so Lawrenson couldn’t get to it. Kevin Ratcliffe who was Lawrenson’s opposite number at Everton was exceptionally quick also.

Mark Lawrenson is best footballer ever to play for Republic of Ireland/Éire in my lifetime

Ratcliffe has savage pace

He’s definitely lost a few yards since 1985 but I don’t doubt he’s quicker than the average 59 year old.
