A few lads getting a start to claim a place. Nice to see Shane Maloney in particular. No Niall Burke after a decent league?
Dont know what the story with him is but hed be behind that half forward line id think. Very lightweight team definitely trying to go down the clare route of ball players not mullockers.
Think he got a 10 day sabbaatical to finish college exams.
Conor Cooney and Cyril Donnellan both training away too after overcoming injury.
The two of them and Burke on form would be on any team. I think Galway have the best forwards in the country.
Agree
I Joe Connolly. A wonderful man.
Glennon publicly stated he wanted midfield. Last chance saloon for him really. Not many other options at corner than moore. Cathal Mannion has a lot of pressure on him this year.
Jaysus…
What?
Cant believe you think our forwards are better than tipps!
I don’t think the Tipp forwards are that great overall. Joe Canning, if he plays wing forward should be a very good puck out option there
What a waste to reduce the the best hurler in the country to a puck out option
Robbing peter with the lack of goal threat with him out there. I fear a rotating forward line which rarely works. Why didn’t bonner start against cork, i missed it at the time
He can get isolated in full forward though a lot of the time as well. Shouldn’t matter much at the weekend anyway. I’d fancy Mannion for a few goals in there although I haven’t seen him hurl this year.
Bonnar wasn’t hurling great this year so far so probably rightfully not starting. Massive improvement on Curran or McCormack if he does get back to form though
Fair enough if hes out of form but hes arguably the most important part of yere forward line i think, gets through buckets of work creating space for others. Daithi Burke tieing him up won that semi. He’s rarely not performed.
+1
He should only be a puck out option if it’s for short puck outs.
Yes. Very short puck outs. By the opposition keeper. I’m thinking specifically of ones that don’t pass the 21.
