Ger Loughnane seems like a nasty man. Heâs constantly using his column and punditry gigs to settle scores, have sly digs and launch cheap shots at folk.
Is Canning a show pony?
He has a nasty streak in him alright. Needless cheap dig at Donoghue, he had his own go in Galway and didnât accomplish a whole lot.
There was three galway defenders back and Farrell still had yards of space in front of the goal. It was farcical defending. Callinan made one or two great saves in the first half.
On the contrary, it was entirely shameful in the second half. No leadership, and to care would they have to work for something. To quote @HBV, if there was work in the bed the cunts would sleep on the floor. The more I think about Loughnaneâs article, the more I know it wonât light a fire under them. At least Offaly in 98 had a bit of fight in them after the âsheep running around in a heapâ comment from Babs. Iâm afraid Galway donât.
No it wasnât shameful. Shameful were the capitulations under McIntyre.
Any game thatâs over that far out is pretty much a sign of one team giving up.
He would be a top, top poster on here.
Surely thereâs no way Loughnane actually typed the words âking of the jungleâ.
In any case, Cunninghamâs âaggressive body languageâ produced the exact same results Donoghue produced on Sunday. Not sure Iâd read too much into it.
Thatâs a fairly disgraceful attack on Donoghue by Loughnane. Totally unnecessary. They played well and led for 45/50 mins. It was Donoghueâs first big game as manager at Croke Park, if a seven or eight point defeat to Kilkenny merits that amount of bile then Bressie will have a new niche market to cater for stressed out, ridiculed intercounty hurling managers. I like Loughnane generally but he has gone too far there.
He won his last A-I almost 20 years ago. His last stint as an intercounty manager was a decade ago and it was a disaster. Heâs coming across as a bit of a dinosaur these days. A bitter busted flush.
Interesting to hear people in here say that you need a cunt in there to manage successfully. Wouldnât agree necessarily. Someone who wonât think twice about dropping lads but who ultimately the players respect if he runs a professional operation. Who has clear rules and systems in place that facilitate the greater good - team success. Plenty of cunts have been intercounty managers and failed miserably too. All about getting the right balance. All about maybe fearing him but also willing to go through hell for him when the chips are down.
Yeah Cody is a cunt but he can be because of the players at his disposal. Tyrell would have been straight back in the team if it was any other county yesterday. Even with that if Hogan isnât introduced Galway probably go on to win that match.
They are still the team to beat but this isnât the Kilkenny team at its peak of Delaney, T Walsh, Shefflin etc. Iâm going to stick my neck out and say they wonât win it this year, going against all known logic and evidence.
Some collections of apes liked that embarrassing post.
Well played Loughnane, well played Sir.
Kilkenny never came out of 3rd gear yesterday, they were far from brilliant & ye were fucking atrocious in the second half.
What the fuck are you on about, you think branding a new manager like that is fair game?
Kilkenny were brilliant in the second half
He is clueless about hurling. And rugby. And American football. And everything bar used cars basically.
Ah stop.
They upped it after a sleep walk like first half effort. It was easy in the second half as Galway backs kept whacking it aimlessly long in the KK half back line where it was returned with pin point accuracy to forwards in space.
Galway will always struggle v KK when they retreat players back on masse like they did yesterday to crowd midfield. To beat KK you need to go man for man, keep your width & have a first touch. Without all three of those you can survive for a time but ultimately always run out of time & steam.
As in depth as ever
Kilkenny were as good as theyâve been for 15/20 mins yesterday, and that was enough, hogan was as sharp as heâs been in years. If they play like they did in that second half no one can live with them.
They were but even Sheedy and OâGrady were abe to predict what was coming from the 35th to the 50th minute. Now there were enough Galway players on the pitch from last September to know it too and they wilted again. In fact Galway second half performance was only second to our own v Tipp
Bullshit.
