Galway’s touch and use of ball was off yesterday, they did well to keep it to 5 considering. The new manager would have made a great statement if he had wipped Joe off but he bottled it and that’s what Loughnane is about. The players are still dictating the terms .

Of course Kilkenny were going to mount a comeback, it started before the break when they were 5 down. There was no wilting until the 55th minute (it was a one point game at the 54th minute), and then Galway basically ran out of steam. The biggest thing I would worry about is whether we have 20 players with the required intensity, as anyone with notions of beating Kilkenny will need that.

Ye got fair warning of that last September. Bottom line is if you can hold Kilkenny between the 35th and 50th minute then you have a shot.
Kilkenny have thrived on teams believing that by defending their lead at half time, they will get over the line. Kilkenny will operate in third gear until half time. Then shift it.

On the contrary, it was entirely shameful in the second half. No leadership, and to care would they have to work for something. To quote @HBV, if there was work in the bed the cunts would sleep on the floor. The more I think about Loughnane’s article, the more I know it won’t light a fire under them.
