Sarsfields got quite a number of “questionable” frees in the closing stages. Castlegar were 5 up at the end of full-time, but the ref played 7 minutes (how he came up with that is anyone’s guess, as he called 3 mins) of injury time. Sarsfields scored 1-3 to win it, the goal being the last puck of the game.
Ref gave Sars a rake of frees in the 7 minutes of injury time. Was only watching on streaming so it was hard to tell whether they were justified frees or not. One of the frees ended in a goal mouth ruck after the ball was lobbed into the square. Ref blew for a throw ball 20 metres out. Threw the ball in and immediately blew for another free to Sars and Kevin Cooney drilled the free into the roof of the net to win the game. The net was still billowing and the ref blew up for full time.
Sounds bad alright.

So you wouldn’t admit Galway club hurling is poor? I’d be the first to say Cork club hurling is extremely poor.
