This is the age group that didn’t get to play a proper minor championship isn’t it, they turned 18 when the competition moved to u17? I’d say nearly everyone there has played in at least 1 minor final though, the Eyrecourt lad one of the few who might not have. It’s been some run at minor really. Be grand to find a couple of midfielders and a forward with an eye for goal from this batch.

Not very many Galway hurling squads down the years would have contained lads from Salthill, Annaghdown and Mountbellew.

Looking forward to seeing Flannery in action. Sean McDonagh not starting

Is that Eamon O Sheas son corner forward?

It is. Seemed slow at minor but wristy

His brother Conor is coaching the Dublin Minors. A chip of the old block so he is.

McDonagh has another 2 years at this grade left yet. Considering his size and the fact he is from a junior club it’s some achievement for him to make the 24.

Was just thinking that. Wide club spread. Is the lad from mountbillya or shhhkehana?

Ollie Canning was good on Brian Carroll’s podcast this week.

Here’s the save he was talking about.
