King Henry of Galway (Part 1) 👑

Hard to have a gripe after the hawk-eye farce but that was no free in at the end. Also, it was awarded well after the 1 minute added on has elapsed. If the ref is going to play 2 minutes then why and the fuck doesn’t he put 2 mins on the board.

This prick of a ref will give us fucking nothing.

He was poor to both teams imo. Okay, we want to see open hurling without stoppages but the amount of frees he missed was poor. A load of minor ones like hand on the back & holding the opponents hurley etc.

Ya they knew he wasn’t going to pull for it. If the senior game was reffed like that it’d be carnage

Cian Lynch and Shane Cooney were very impressive today. Limerick especially their inside forwards looked very nervous and fumbled a lot of ball under little pressure

Well done to the minors. Matties machine keeps humming away and firing them out.

Getting back to the seniors… its kinda frustrating that the two teams left in it are based around skill and pace which are two areas we’d be tradtionally strong in. But with Cunningham trying to bring down KK he went the physical route and assembled a collection of big men…

How many All Irelands has he got to now? How many has he won?

I can’t even imagine the seniors winning a tight game like the minors did today and the crop from a few years back did against Clare in extra time. Where does that fight go? They probably lose between throwing the jackets into the cloakroom in CPs and the walk to the bar.

Its goes a bit deeper than that Wristy!

In fairness to Clare they put a proper plan in place to make that transition from minor to U21 to senior. Its starting to pay dividends now.

I would trust that Joe Byrne has a plan around this for Galway… Though one wonders why Shane Maloney and Padraig Brehony didnt make any impact with the seniors this year ??

But aside from this the mental attitude has to change too. Reading today about the maturity of this group of Clare players… Management were worrying how they’d handle the flannans debs night with a minor semi final the following sunday. The players went to management with a comprimise… drink water till 12.30 and go home then. Could you see that happening in Galway?

That’s the thing it has to come from the players. I think we put too much emphasis on the management set up and almost let the players off the hook for the most part.

Carrying grudges from club games into the intercounty set up and let it poison the atmosphere. You can’t tell me the Galway club game is any dirtier than Clare or Cork or Kilkenny. But we let these issues fester and reap the rewards

I heard that the Thomases Portumna supposed ‘rift’ wasnt an issue at all. Sure there rivalries but it didnt impact the county setup. No idea whats true…

Ah I give up trying to figure out all these rumors. Looks like we’ll have to accept we’re just not good enough

I hear Limerick are appealing the result of the minor game surely they’ll be told to get lost if for no reason than the ref played for the draw in normal time anyway.

If ye mullockers had been called on all the fouling of Cian lynch we’d have been out of sight by then anyway!

(I joke, this should be let go)
