King Henry of Galway (Part 1) 👑

I just saw somewhere that they lost a relegation match and presumed that was that for them. Is he still kicking?

Ballina have been circling the drain for a while now, didn’t David Brady step in and save them a year or two ago?

Think he had hung them up after last year, but if their senior status is on the line sure who knows…

Ballina have been struggling for a while now but not as bad as this year, Claremorris utterly hockeyed them in the group (0-16 to 1-2 or something like that), and Kiltane thumped them in the relegation semi final last weekend. Got a late goal on Saturday which saved them. Not alone were they in bother but Crossmolina were in the other side of the relegation battle, both of Mayo’s AI winners in the last 15 years and barely threading water now.

I think their in a relegation final with Menlough. PJ will be back to save the day no doubt. Just catching up with the Milltown result there. Fucking hell:D

They were beaten by Leitir Mór in a relegation play-off, an injury time free winning it for the Connemara men. Padraig Joyce came out of retirement and scored 1-4, 1-3 before half time. They face Menlough in the relegation decider next week, Menlough were defeated by Carna-Cashel in the other relegation play-off, making it a very good weekend for the Connys  Carna-Cashel scoring 2 late points in what was a very tight game all through. With Joyce on board I’d expect Killererin to beat Menlough in the decider.

St Michaels and Barna drew the other senior semi final yesterday, either of them will probably be trounced by Corofin in the final anyway :frowning:

Morris still over Corofin?

Frank Morris? No, he’s been the co-commentator on Galway Bay FM for several years now, fella called Stephen Rochfort over them these days.

Dave Morris, was over then last year.

Martin Kiely does a bit of phycology with them too.

I heard last night that Galways minor and U21 hurlers will compete in Leinster from next year onward.

Great news if true but have seen any press release on it yet.

I really hope it’s true. They need to develop an east Galway stadium, maybe ballinasloe for home games. I wonder would pat mac open the chequebook for this? It would be a lasting legacy in the town where it all started for him.

My honest opinion… and the figures would have to add up of course but…

Mountain South is a perfect location. Ok it was stupid price but its a perfect location. Just off the M6 motorway and will also be adjacent to the Limerick - Galway Motorway. This should be the long term new home of Galway GAA.

Pearse should be sold for development.

This would be a great move if true. Antrim should also be included and both counties should also go into the minor championship.

Will need a little redrawing of the AI semi-finals but the introduction of a quarter-final at U21 would take care of that.

Intermediates are definitely in. No news on the others yet.

They would be as well off just to get rid of the semi finals/backdoor and let the Munster and Leinster finalists meet in the final at both minor and 21s. Would help with fixture congetsion at club level for the competing counties as well

The Leinster championship football and hurling draws for all grades other than senior for 2015 were made last night, chaps. Galway are not in minor or U21 hurling. They do face a stern test in the intermediate hurling semi-final against Kilkenny though with the winners advancing to face the defending champions Wexford.

2015 Draws, no Galway

Thanks Monty, my source is badly informed so.

The inference I heard is that the minors and u21 may follow next year.
