Comer: âwe have aspirations to go really far with this teamâ

Damien Comer is confident that Galway can challenge for a place in the All-Ireland series.
Last weekendâs victory in Armagh has earned the Tribesmen a home clash with Derry this weekend. Win that and they are just one win away from the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
âOf course, you can only look to the next game but we have aspirations to go really far with this team,â Comer says in The Irish Times.
âYou hear it said sometimes as well that Galway donât have the bottle anymore, but I think weâve been showing plenty of that. Especially to finish out Armagh in Armagh.
âItâs all about recovery now between games. We donât mind that and weâre happy to be out again this weekend, and weâll take lots of confidence from beating Armagh in the way we did.
âKevin has instilled a lot of belief into this team. He knows how good we are. Heâs just trying to feed it though the team, and weâre starting to believe how good we are.
âWeâve shown it by putting it up to some of the best teams in challenge matches lately, and now in the qualifiers as well. We still feel that if it wasnât for a few unlucky breaks against Mayo weâd be in a Connacht final.
âAnd that was a real suckerpunch. We felt that game was there for the taking and just a few of the breaks, a few mistakes, cost us. You need those on the day.â
Derry, unlike Armagh, put it up to Donegal and will present a much stiffer test for the footballers. Home advantage is a massive plus though and Iâm hoping that might just swing it for us. Doubt Shane Walsh will make this but should be OK should we make the QFs.
As for the Hurlers, season starts now. Wouldnât be surprised if thatâs the last we see of them in Leinster
I hope you went up to the barista and fucked her out of it for not knowing who he was. He probably gets coffee in there every day, having never lost the common touch. Not a usual sight these days.
I heard Donnellan picked up a hamstring injury in a club game last weekend. Nothing major Iâd say as he played the full game for Pearses in their defeat to Gort.
That could be a huge result for Galway. Since the introduction of the backdoor era in 1997, its only their 4th quarter final win from 14 appearances and the first in Thurles. Theyâve been much better in semi finals in that time period, winning their last three.
Weâve a terrible record in quarter finals and a great record in semi finals. How will I explain to the cancucks that I need to fly home for a game of lacrosse
