Was he sober perhaps? And not a cunt?
I read somewhere that the man in question once managed a Galway side in an A/i minor final Croker and had no issue subbing a player off in the first half for his performance either
Correct as far as I remember.
Look, what the fuck made him think that he had any divine right to be in the dressing room at HT… What was he going to do like? Box the head off Cunningham?
The subbing of Harte was harsh in my opinion but calls are made, you live or die by them but you don’t expect seething senior citizens roaring at you as you go about job in the privacy of the dressing room.
Any non accredited person getting access to dressing rooms during AI semi final is a serious issue. Unless he was accredited.
Teddy Mac won’t cow tow to hired goons and why should he. The only people working at Croke Park yesterday not being paid are the players
You seem very convinced Teddys story is the real version of events.
i would take the side of the only man to win a dual all Ireland in the same year over some lad who was first in Croke Park wearing a radio set
We’ll see.
Bad form making room for your captain though!some of the sub’s were a bit strange. Galway had nothing really to come on that was going to change the game…
Who give a flying fuck at this stage anyway…
I give a fuck. Galway’s heads weren’t right at the start of the second half. A lot of young lads in that dressing room. Probably the most crucial half time many will ever sit through, and, if true, some lad comes bursting in having a go at the manager. Fucks sake. I usually laugh these things off, but this is thoroughly depressing if true. Harte was harshly treated, but fucking hell.
It’s not the Limerick way.
He has managed Galway minor teams in AI finals, so I suppose he is well known in Galway GAA circles so would have easier access to the dressing room than your run of the mill parent.
But what a cuntish thing to do. Take it up with Cunningham after the match (not that it’s really any of his business, he’s not the manager, but if you want to express and opinion that was not the time to do it). It’s not like the decision could have been changed anyway, once he’s off he’s off.
Given how Galway seemed to be a completely different team after they came out after HT, it’s hard not to believe that some cunt roaring at the manager in the dressing didn’t have an affect.
Cunt of the year material, if true.
There’s always some fucking drama when Galway lose a final, and we’ve lost a lot. A wonderful old chestnut was after going in at half time ten points up on cork, and cue the eventual collapse. The excuse was that they had a few sups of poteen at half time, sure why not.
What a fucking ape of a man of this is true. Did he think that he’d get the young lad back on the pitch!
Josie harte is a bit of a buffoon. Imagine at half time with a chance to win an all ireland and instead of hearing inspirational speeches or a game plan the players had to watch another display of galway hurling pig headedness.
He also once tried to throw me out of his bar for attempting to stand on a table when polluted with whiskey HE served me. The man has issues.
What the fuck were you doing drinking in Gort? Explain yourself!
Springin. Need i say more?
Heard it was at the Burlo that Josie went for Cunningham. It was doing the rounds as well that Gerry Mac and Joe Cooney Sr also had strong words for him on the night. Worse than fucking soccer moms the lot of them. Also that Harte Jr had to delete his twitter account after some less than flattering comments about Cunningham the night after the game.
Ya i saw some of the comments online. Doesn’t display a great deal of maturity.Doesn’t bode well for next year.
When I look back on 2013 the depression after the game against Clare was worse than the feeling after the finals in 2012. The sense of missed oppertunity was a killer. If Galway had peaked in 2013 instead of 2012 we’d have won the All-Ireland. We might have been a flash in the pan but at least we’d have won one. 2012 meant nothing once we failed to build on it. Something for the pundits to reference but nothing more. Not a stepping stone to greater things. Not the cliche you’ve gotta lose one to win one. Just another false dawn.
It looks like we’re on an express train to square one again lads.
Hopefully they’ll have some good team building in Boston in November and all this can be glossed over.
Glynn is gone to the States. Should be back for next years Championship
If it’s true, Sr. needed a good box into the gob and sent on his heels back out the door. It might have also laid down a bit of a marker to the players as to what was needed in the second half. Nothing like the sight of blood to focus the mind.
Seriously, the shit that Cunningham has had to deal with is bordering on farcical.
I hope they use that same shite feeling to make sure it doesn’t happen.
