Jesus Christ how did GMIT manage to top a Fitzgibbon group? Wind the competition up and start again

The regional tech have a mighty team this year

I can see @downyourthroats coming on with a humdinger of a post before the competition ends lamenting these tin pot colleges like TUS, MTU, TUD, GMIT etc making strides this year.

Who the fuck even are these colleges like?

Well one of the teams in their group was Trinity so that helps. They actually have a decent side on paper. Plenty of lads who have won minor AI’s with Galway.

This was a belter of a post:

"That’s a lovely little dig at Carlow by the way. A few years back, they beat College and let the world know about it.

Well our boys are out now in the workplace leading the world in areas such as Commerce, Medicine and Engineering, while their boys are still watching Home & Away in the middle of the day.

Who were the real winners that day?"

Can’t say he’s not ringing the changes. He’s an honest broker.

Jesus that’s an ordinary enough looking hf line.

Is there an argument that in recent seasons, Galway have maybe lacked a bit of balance at half-forward? Maybe short a bit of grunt at times? I don’t know much about Jack Hastings but, by all accounts, Monaghan is one of the form players in Galway in recent times and Fahy is apparently going well?

If they can get through the dirty work and you don’t have to pull someone like Whelan out, that full-forward line will do plenty of damage with the right ball.

We’ll just have to wait and see. Agin Offaly you’d always need a few hardy lads able to pull wildly.

Is there anywhere to watch this btw?

Not live afaik

Thanks. Shame.

Unless someone is streaming it

Jack Hastings is an interesting enough pick. He isn’t of the highest quality in terms of his hurling ability but has a bit of size to him and seems like he has a great attitude. Has a knack of picking up some loose ball and getting 2 or 3 handy points in a game, maybe the way modern hurling is played there is a spot in a team for a lad like that.

A bulldozer. We need a good few.
Sure Limerick have about 18 of them. Shaved gorillas.
