Thanks @Fat_Pox for tagging me here. Its great to have it back.

Looking forward to paying a visit to my beloved Mardyke come January. Its been too long. I have old friends who I havenā€™t seen in years down there. Thatā€™s the essence of the Fitzgibbon - the friendships, the memories and the stories. A camaraderie.

God Iā€™m getting very sentimental even thinking about it.

On the squads themselves, that looks a formidable College outfit. I presume we are Favourites with the Bookmakers to complete three in a row and number 41 in total? It would cement Tom Kingstonā€™s legacy as the best Fitzgibbon Cup manager since Paulo and The Canon.

Thatā€™s a lovely little dig at Carlow by the way. A few years back, they beat College and let the world know about it.

Well our boys are out now in the workplace leading the world in areas such as Commerce, Medicine and Engineering, while their boys are still watching Home & Away in the middle of the day.

Who were the real winners that day?

Iā€™m hearing they made an absolute balls of the Fitzgibbon Cup Draw that UEFA would be proud of.

Thatā€™s some panel of players UCC have there. UL are pretty poor certainly as opposed to other years.

Strong UUJ team there @Chucks_Nwoko

I envisage a starting XV something like

  1. Lynch (Derry)

  2. McCambridge (Armagh)

  3. C Quinn (Tyrone)

  4. Clarke (Tyrone)

  5. McKearney (Tyrone)

  6. McKernan (Tyrone)

  7. Gallagher (Tyrone)

  8. Glass (Derry)

  9. McGleenan (Tyrone)

  10. Doherty (Derry)

  11. Canavan (Tyrone)

  12. Galligan (Cavan)

  13. Mulgrew (Tyrone)

  14. Mulroy (Louth)

  15. Loughlin (Derry)

St Marys look to be very poor this year.

Strong looking Queens side for a change.

I thought UL looked fairly strong; maybe no Tony Kellys but a fair helping of senior intercounty panellists. UCC obviously look very strong again.

Who are the senior intercounty panelists or have that experience? Iā€™m probably not up to speed.

Billy Power, Ciaran Connolly, Brian O Grady, Mark Rodgers, Mark Quinlan. Jamie Power. Sean Twomey. Cian Galvin? Rian Considine?

Billy Power, Brian Oā€™Grady, Bryan Oā€™Mara, Cian Galvin, Jamie Power, Mark Quinlan, Mark Rodgers, Mikey Kiely, Sean Twomey, TJ Brennan anyway.

Not sure about Ross Hayes or Rian Considine, think theyā€™ve only played U-20. That Ciaran Connolly will surely be on the Tipp panel next year if he has never been before.

Dean Mason has been the Ballyhale keeper for a good few years now; I wouldnā€™t know much about the Kilkenny guys in general but Hego Junior, Mikey Oā€™Grady & Ben Herlihy are all fellas who have started at U-20 level for Limerick aswell.

Considine was on the extended panel for a year or two

Had a look at the Fitz panels HOTD put up a week back.

Definitely 5/6 colleges with a very strong 15. Another 5/6 with solid 15s that could cause an upset on their day.

TUD and Trinity looked like the only teams of no hopers.

Itā€™s a great competition that doesnā€™t get the coverage it deserves. Hopefully some of the games will be streamed. It would be a good way to pass a miserable January evening.

Same with Hayes but he got the chip a couple of weeks back

@Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy , thank you for the panels above.

My football knowledge wouldnā€™t be as good as yours but two questions/observations.

Does that NUIG team look good to you?

Donegal are getting some amount of lads exposed to this level of football. Iā€™d wager more than any other county.

Yes.

DCU, UUJ, UL and NUIG look the teams to beat.
