The forum was in the same premises as Henry’s really but opened out onto the grand parade while Henry’s opened onto sth main st
The factory, then doyles and now Soho. Used be a pool table upstairs. I did a lot of drinking there for a while. A kip
Three, if you count the one they stole from Killing Joke.
great spot for getting sorted
Bingo
I would have had it as Doyle’s before the Factory?
An awful kip nonetheless
The entrance to the forum was down the alley, the village also had an entrance down there
There was an overhead walkway tunnel connecting Henry’s to the forum, spent many’s a night looking down from it gag eyed.
I’m mentally walking the premises here, I’d say you’re talking about the walkway leading to the DJ box in Henry’s, it was upstairs by the toilets, I can’t think of any others. The door to the left of the stage in Henry’s led directly to the forum,
No this was like an airbridge going across the lane linking south Main Street with grand parade. It had windows in it too
I’m not sure although something about it rings a bell,
It makes no sense though because it was all one building that went from the grand parade to South Main Street, if there was a walkway over the alley it would have led nowhere
The walkway led from night club to another I’m pretty sure. Was a long time ago but have absolute certainty of its existence, despite my state when inside those vaunted premises!
What was the pub called opposite Beamish? Used be bit of a metal spot?
The two streets backed onto each other would have been no need for an airbridge. Rings no bells with me anyway
An spailpin fanach, Ziggys?
It does ring a bell but can’t place it, the village was on the ground floor, Henry’s and the forum were both up one stairs, all really on the south Main Street side, the grand parade had a pub and a more traditional (mainstream) nightclub (shandras), I cant figure out where you’d need a walkway
It was over the lane that joined the two streets. The airbridge was parallel to both sm street and grand parade. It joined two premises that were all Henry’s.
I’d say it’s snotty joes if we are talking about the same time, it was the first pub run by legendary Cork publican Benny McCabe.
That airbridge is still confusing me, if it was parallel to Grand parade and South Main Street it would only have led to the car park on the other side of the alley
There was no car park back then. Did ye never queue on the lane for the forum? There was nights when Henry’s and forum were separate
They were always seperate except for very rare occasions, I was a regular in both for years, that car park is there for 50 years
Would you Cork cunts fuck off and take it somewhere else please.
