What hurling clubs they get players from?
Ahascragh-Fohenagh mainly but they would get a few from Pearses as well.
That means both finalists from that year are/were down a grade. I think Gaeltacht might have come back up recently after a few years in the wilderness.
Be a long time before Caltra go senior again I Imagine. They don’t have a big pick to be fair to them. Their past success down to one exceptional generation of the same family. And as others have said there is competition from hurling in their area which some of the other football clubs not far from them don’t have. Otherwise the likes of the Mannion’s would be playing for them full time.
Caltra have a bigger pick than most rural clubs. I’d say they must have 7 national schools to pick from, though admittedly the schools themselves would have small enough numbers.
Would be fairly small numbers in schools there alright. Small pick by senior club standards anyway. I’d say by intermediate club standard they probably fare better.
Andrew O’ Shaugnessy on TG4 there now. The fella who celebrates that 2007 win over Waterford with a shocked reaction before going beserk in the stands surely posts here😅
Hardly a word about his club in it.
Nice segment on Kilmallock at the end there. When did he stop hurling senior club? Presume he was part of the 2014 county title winning team too?
He played some group games in 2014 and was an unused sub in the County Final and Munster Club final.

Pilkington, Cake and Bernard Flynn will be interesting. Liam Griffin too, although I’d imagine his will be centered around 2 years (95’ and 96’) rather than the usual decade or so that most have?
